Alfredo is a collaborative studio album by American rapper Freddie Gibbs and American hip hop producer The Alchemist. It was released on May 29, 2020, through Gibbs' own record label ESGN Records, as well as ALC Records and Empire Distribution. The album is the first project between only Gibbs and The Alchemist, as it also marks the second time they have collaborated on a full-length project, following 2018's Fetti with fellow rapper Currensy. DiscoMagicUK I would have replied to your comment, but the last time i did that you deleted your post and took my comment with it.I'm not involved in pressing vinyl. I'll be the first to admit that i don't have a clue about the costs. And before i say anything else i want to state that i'm grateful to anyone that makes the effort to make old classics available again. It's a service that i genuinely appreciate because i still buy a lot of vinyl.I can only go on the evidence that i see before me. You imply that you'd be running at a loss, but how come pretty much every other new vinyl release in existence is selling for around £10 per 12"? Why isn't everyone charging £50? And you've stated what this release was selling for previously, but in all honesty what does that matter in the slightest? Are you saying that the more it sold for previously, the more you can justify charging? Sorry mate, i'm absolutely open to a fair discussion and i will be happy to back down and concede if i've spoken out of turn, but i'm not hearing anything to convince me about the price you ask for this release.

I can't really understand the praise for doing this reissue and charging £50 for the vinyl. Almost every reissue i've seen recently asks around £10 per 12". MPS have being doing some amazing reissues and asked this price for a 5x12", and that is for an album that was previously incredibly rare. How about the (4x12") Scopex 98/00 reissue on Tresor, or all the very rare Vibraphone reissues? There are many more examples i could give.What DiscoMagicUK is doing is pretty disgusting if you ask me. Getting someone to hand number a "certificate of authenticity" must be expensive in 2018...

Fair comment on the high volume vinyl, but the arguement doesn't really hold weight. Lots of reissues and new releases come out in limited numbers, and i have bought several limited 2017/18 releases, all priced around £10. The price tag on this doesn't have any real justification other than what the seller wants.In the end if enough people willingly agree to be fleeced for £50 then i guess there is nothing to be said. I just think it's a sad state of affairs for the reissue market.

Those are high volume releases, pressed in the thousands by labels backed by big record companies which means they can afford the large upfront costs and the resulting unit costs are much cheaper. DMUK is a self-funded one-man record label and pressing 100 copies with sleeves etc is very expensive. Roland was very upfront about what he was doing on Facebook and also very transparent about the costs/ prices, so your comment is extremely unfair. All the copies were snapped up in no time so I’d say the price was just right.

Remixing Action was a labour of love. When I took it on board I tried to imagine being in a studio in 1994 and doing this and giving people a UK mix. For me doing this as Boy Raver is/was the biggest thing in my career. Its bigger than charting with LMC.

In reply to olly70's comment below :)Unfortunately all of the very limited number of copies we did of DMWX3211 Electric Choc - Move Your Body Now were sold at the time (actually they were almost all given for free to shops and distributors). We didn't do any white labels test pressings only the ones with the red label. I do have one copy in my archive. Unfortunately I also have one copy only of the full Alfredo release in my archive. The other 200-odd I had left were pulped in 1997....(yeah...I know...).We did six copies on white label test pressing of Alfredo "Action!" and six of GaVaCo "Show Me" because they were the first two DMUK releases that we licensed directly from Italian producers rather than Discomagic Italy.Up to that time we either had used plates from the Discomagic Italy factory or (like in the case of DMX501 and DMWX3199) had them manufactured in UK. We had just had the first pressing of ASHA messed up by the cutting studio missing out the first chord and we wanted to make sure Alfredo and GaVaCo were OK.GaVaCo and Alfredo were cut at the same time and when the test pressings were ready I went to Italy to check them. I then left them at my father's house 24 years ago and forgot all about it. I have an archive there where I kept copies of all the records I have ever mixed/produced/pressed/distributed.Last Christmas, when I was in Italy, I had a look through them because I had just re-started DMUK and was curious to see what I had there on vinyl. Among other things, I stumbled upon these TPs and brought them back to the UK.Of the Alfredo's TPs, three I am keeping in the DMUK archive, the other three I offered for sale to collectors. Two have been sold and the last one is here on Discogs.PS.: If I wanted to get rich, I sure wouldn't have restarted DMUK in 2018 as a vinyl-only label :D

The Italian piano anthem of piano anthems. From the opening cords to the "Action" vocal this track builds and builds, totally uplifting piano's looped throughout the track create euphoria on the dancefloor. Although produced later than most of the early 1990 Italian piano screamers this in my opinion was the pinnicle of this genre.
