California is the seventh studio album by American rock band Blink-182, released on July 1, 2016 through BMG as the band's only album on the label. Produced by John Feldmann, it is the first album by the band to feature Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba, who replaced former member Tom DeLonge. After touring and releasing the band's sixth album Neighborhoods 2011, it became difficult for the trio to record new material, due to DeLonge's side projects. Just saw Blink 182 in Pittsburgh, they were supposed to be selling the clear vinyl tour only edition but they either ran out or messed up because when I bought mine at the merch table they were selling this purple vinyl edition instead. Does anyone know how many of this purple were pressed?

No idea, that is something Blink has a history of releasing afterwards, once they're all sold out. But I just placed my order for all 3 colors (red, white, and purple) plus a T-shirt a few hours ago on impulse. Their colored vinyl tends to skyrocket when kept in good condition, it was totally an impulse buy. But as of right now only red is available by itself. Plain black ia also always available on Amazon and such.

SUPER clean pressing. Didn't hear a single pop or scratch or skip. Purple wax looks awesome, too.Definitely a fun ping-pong between old/new Blink sound. Won't be Blink purists' favorite but if you enjoy even the tiniest bit of all sides of Blink/Neighborhoods/+44, you'll enjoy it. Matt Skiba brings in some good Alkaline Trio leanings and really shines when he does. Very pleased with this record.Only critique I can really make is that I wish some of the standout songs were longer--"Brohemian Rhapsody" had so much potential to be wasted (for lack of a better word) on a skit, and "Cynical" is a hit single hiding in clothing that is 2 minutes too short.

Totally agree with you. I love the first and final tracks, I just wished they were longer. With a little fleshing out this could easily be a 1.5 disc LP. But in general I'm quite happy with it.

the guys from EMP told me that there are some red copies for sale at the blink 182 shop BUT, at all, the red one is limited to 500 only and sold exclusively at EMP.
