You can tell me how vile I already know that I am G D C I'll grow old, start acting my age. I'll be a brand new day in a life that you hate G D C A crown of gold, a heart that's harder than stone. It hurts a whole lot but it's missed when it's gone. Unlike their debut, Deja Entendu isn't all about bitter breakups and doesn't fall into a permanent punk-pop hole. Produced by Steven Haigler Pixies, Quicksand, this sophomore effort finds Brand New maturing, reaching for textures and song structures instead of clichés. They still, however, alternate their full-on blasts with slower acoustic work, which doesn't hurt. Brand New - Deja Entendu. Tautou 1:422. Sic Transit Fades Vincent Accardi, Jesse Lacey 3:06 3. It was fairly good punk, but it didn't really grab me. Deja Entendu, on the other hand, gripped me by the shirt collar and slammed me into the ground

Is this pressing the same as the RSD release sans the die cut sleeve?
Qucid
Is this a different pressing from the 2015 repress? Or is it the same pressing with a different sleeve?
TheMoonix
bought 2x copies of this (New). both showed up warped and sound like absolute s**t. Avoid this pressing.
Beazezius
Picked up a used copy today. Some crackling and surface noise, on parts not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of the album. No sounds of warping. Fair price paid @ 18 USD.
Kare
Most of these went to Amoeba Records in Cali which is why not many people got these.
Nagor
My copy is not noisy at all, i might have been lucky i guess? not warped either. Bought directly from the brand new store, from whoever runs that.
Ichalote
a slightly better remaster would have been great tho, i dont think the drums sound all that great, the best sounding instruments i would say are the voice if that counts and the guitar
Lanin
My copy in side A is noisy as hell, such a bummer.
Auau
Great pressing of a mediocre emo core album that reminds you of why Thursday had a more viable and vital career. The album runs out of ideas almost as quickly as it apes other acts of the time. Be prepared to hear trace elements of 311, Incubus with the sincerity and lack of technical ability that defined the genre as an antagonistic revolt to the guitar playing prowess of acts from the previous decade because emotional lyrics and quasi acoustic strumming are the greatest achievements on display here.
from earth
I don‘t agree with the Thursday part but yes, it is indeed a mediocre album.
elektron
Hahaha this should become a copypasta, it's that ridiculous of a comment. "Thursday had a more viable and vital career" is gold!
Faehn
The singer from Thursday vocally admits that Brand New's subsequent work made him feel embarrassed for Thursday's output.
Otiel
I bought this in 2005 - sounds great. Nice quiet pressing. Don't really care about all the 'first press' stuff - I'm just keeping this in my collection.
Blackbeard
My copy is very noisy even after a clean on my VPI machine, pretty disappointing.
Lightseeker
Mine is as well. Very crackley and sounds damaged even though it was new and sealed. It's was also really warped
Hanad
My copy came super warped. I purchased from a brick and mortar store. Sound quality is good, though.
Memuro
is this a joke.. i literally just bought this off of someone for $20 lmao i had no idea it was even the first press
I am hcv men
then it might be the 3rd repress which cost 20$ ;)
Conjulhala
Looking for this one at a decent price. None of them made the road to Paris, it was a shame. I'm open for trade.
Iesha
Super quiet pressing. Clear and well masterd sounding on my setup. Artwork is also very nicely produced on the jacket and liner notes.
Usic
Someone paid $500 for this record? A Brand New record??? People are hilarious.
SoSok
lol what is even the point in buying this. It's not like it's any better than the repressing.
Kefym
......Then why pay the big bucks for an original pressing in the first place if you're buying it to have it maintain value?
Marige
Reissues lose their value over time where originals tend not to. Look at labels like Blue Note, Prestige, Mainstream, Vertigo, etc. All reissued their back catalog in later years to satisfy demand, yet only true first press originals command the huge sums.
Lonesome Orange Kid
It's a fucking disgrace how there's THIS many of these on here. Ruining music.
ndup
Defeats the purpose!
Jark
Can anyone tell me approximately how much the RSD album cost before the flippers/scalpers/whatever got to it?
Grarana
I think it was somewhere around $50 at the record store I went to that year, but they were all sold out by the time I got in there (of course). I work at a record store now, and this came in one day, which I snagged for $100.
Erienan
The record store I bought it from ON RSD charged me $70, which they had no right to do.
Narder
It was such a blur on RSD, but I believe in Canada i paid $59.99
Djang
According to waxtimes.com the suggested retail price was $40. At Banquet Records they were selling it for £50. http://waxtimes.com/5-most-expensive-albums-from-rsd-2015/http://www.banquetrecords.com/RSD15BN
YSOP
I don't even want to buy this album but even if I did these prices are out of this world. RSD releases piss me off because of the flippers.
Ranenast
Didnt receive my lyric sheet with the astronaut on it. Pretty pissed. Hopefully Triple Crown will rectify this.
Shakagul
Hello,We ran into this as well. Have you heard back from them?
Blackbrand
I emailed several times... zero response from the label. Pretty pissed.
Getaianne
Don't spend $80 on this folks, you will be able to get a copy, you just may have to be patient.
Gavirgas
Two copies showed up in an order yesterday, they are slowly coming in. Trying to keep up with the demand I guess.
Saintrius
There's a few copies on elusivedisc apparently, so it does look like the last bit of this first run is still trickling out to stores. Order it soon unless you wanna wait a few more weeks/couple months for more to get pressed (and yes, they will, don't worry)http://www.elusivedisc.com/Brand-New-Deja-Entendu-180g-2LP/productinfo/TCRLP31821/
GAMER
If this is unlimited like they said, it's weird how my distributor no longer has it listed. It makes me worry :(
Bukelv
Waiting patiently....
Sermak Light
They've already confirmed this is an unlimited pressing. Wait a few weeks and save your money.
Boraston
Lol there's plenty more being pressed/shipped out. don't pay these inflated prices just yet
Kegal
That's good to hear. I saw it was out of stock on the Brand New site, and that had me less than optimistic about future pressings.
Arabella V.
basically what exphile said. Also most of the reliable retailers/distros I've contacted have said that there's no set limit on the pressing (so don't believe the /5000 rumors) and that any delays are due to either shipping delays and/or pressing plants being backed up due to the ever increasing demand of records in general. If I had to make an educated guess based on current trends, I'd say these will probably be "out of print" for a couple weeks at a time while they keep churning out copies.
Fountain_tenderness
Apparently a lot of the online distributer's shipments are late, and that is why it's "currently unavailable" from most places. At least I hope that's the reason.
Rainbearer
Do you have a source on this? I tried to pre-order about a month ago and pre-orders were already sold out. I haven't seen anything about more being pressed.
uspeh
Anyone know how many were pressed of this version?
Wnex
Does anyone know how this pressing's sound differs? Was it remastered? Is the pressing better?
Malalanim
Tbh, this pressing isn't that great (at least my copy). There's a noticeable volume shift during "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot" right before one of the "Call me your safe bet"s. And it's definitely not my needle/TT setup causing the problem. I also own a copy of the original pressing (Bought at Hot Topic in '03 or '04). The original pressing is way more consistent sonically.
Kiaile
yeah, I don't think they "remastered" but it sounds so great. So much depth, warmth on the vocals and guitars. Jesse's doubled tracked/layered vocals really stand out, almost make you feel like you're listening to it of the first time again... oh vinyl.
Quphagie
I never owned any of the older pressings, but my copy of this sounds pretty good. Not sure if its any different from previous versions.
Duzshura
Are you kidding me? This thing is *already* sold out everywhere? Press more! This is ridiculous!
Sataxe
It's not on Amazon unless you mean those third party sellers who are flipping them for $75+ . Urban Outfitters does have some left, still slightly more expensive than it should be, though. No matter, I actually managed to find a copy at my local record store for a reasonable price. Had to stop myself from picking up another copy, seeing as how it looks like these will be sold out everywhere within the week. I still hope they plan on pressing more.
Perdana
You can still buy it on amazon and urban outfiters
Phenade
That obese die-cut looks ridiculous.
Kitaxe
It actually isn’t, if you compare it to the original vinyl artwork, the cutout matches the size of the astronaut. The cutout should just be black, its just that a lot of people put the green colored insert into the jacket so it fills in the cutout area but it shouldn’t be there. The astronaut cutout should be all black. It is a play on the original CD artwork. The original CD came with a black slipcover that had a cutout that only showed the astronaut, the vinyl is meant to be the reverse of that.
Ffyan
NASA has really gone down hill since they removed the fitness test from their requirements.
Brialelis
What color is the car? @ the person selling this for 100,000$
Andromajurus
tan. someone reported as a joke listing, but I would let it all go.
Bort
I'd like to know the condition of the cello before placing an order
Anardred
Flippers suck.
Xanzay
Lazy people who don't pre-order or go grab the vinyl while it's available and then get pissed because someone wants to make money on a something that is in high demand suck.
Fordregelv
if you wanna pay $300 or more why not just buy the original pressing
Cordaron
This copy is much more unique and the pressing sounds much much better. This is probably the variant collectors will be after down the line, over the first press.
Mejora
Props to the guy who posted a fake—I assume—listing for $100,000. But seriously, these RSD flips are becoming more and more ridiculous.
Shem
[quote=crabtreeadam] Props to the...I made an offer for the Honda, but 'twas declined. Could still be legitimate...
Zbr
I feel like I'm the only person who bought this on RSD because I wanted it, and not because I wanted flip it.
luisRED
Man I called almost every record store in my state (WV). The consensus is that they experienced the same disappointment as you. There are not very many records stores around me, but I checked both and neither one received a single copy :(
6snake6
same, really sucks
Gorisar
The record store I work for ordered 20 copies and we didn't get any of them. It's disappointing to see so many disappointed faces on RSD, then to come on here and some idiot is selling it for 250 bucks.
Ydely
You're not the only one! I just feel bad for whoever bought this on RSD to keep but ended up with two side 1/2 LPs...
Roram
Good on you man. That's how it should be. Enjoy it!
Fordrelis
Eugh - where it states 'Record Store Day 2015', should it not instead read 'Morons who care not for the music and just want to make some money, buy all the sought after limited editions to flog on discogs/ebay day 2015'?RSD is beyond a joke these days - means absolutely nothing, mugs off true fans of the vinyl art and instead rewards bandwagon jumpers and touts looking to extort passionate fans.
Mozel
I have to agree with most Of this. I was only to snag a copy by having a record store employee hoard one for me before it hit the shelves on RSD. They only got one copy. I plan on keeping it sealed for a while.
Ckelond
There's a repress coming out in two weeks. Save your money.
Bloodhammer
Yeah, if I didn't land this on RSD I would just wait for the repress coming up. I love this album and I'm glad I landed a copy, but there's not anything special enough about this release to make it worth spending $200+. Plus there's evidently several defects out there where people got 2 side 1 & 2 LPs instead of getting sides 1, 2, 3, and 4. 5 out of the 15 copies that my store got were defects...
Fesho
I kinda want the Honda though...
Nto
Scalping on this one is going to be bad, be studious about pricing folks!
mym Ђудęm ęгσ НuK
Vinyl reissue is available via Barnes & Noble for pre-order. Release date May 4, 2015.
Still In Mind
Do not purchase this from adrientmata. He is just overcharging for the upcoming repress that you can buy yourself for half the price.Edit: This user has apparently gotten the hint and removed the offending "offer." This is being repressed soon.
Balladolbine
2015 REPRESS. RSD.

got it.

Became available today. Sold out in minutes.
Anayanis
It will be a small miracle to get your hands on one.

The people that say that Emo music of the naughties is absolute toss, definitely have never listened to Brand New or their album Deja Entendu.Forget the stereotypical screaming and young adults in watered down goth costumes. Because thats not what you get with Brand New's Deja Entendu, this is a masterpiece of lyrics and music - and is a well needed addition to the Emo scene. Yes the songs are about love and romance, so if you don't like that stuff stop here, and leave. If you are wanting to give the style a second chance then please, continue.Of course, i was one of those people. Emo equals My Chemical Romance which therefore equals 'oh gawd no not eeemoo music, thats crap'. Then again this was before i had even heard of Brand New. Now in this day and age when lyrics seem more like poems written by C grade English students (look at the Top 40 if you don't understand) Jesse Lacey's words are a much needed breath of fresh air - so fresh actually you will have to listen to this album more than once to actually believe how good the lyrics are here. And thanks to this album I now have two favourite songwriters, Max Bemis from Say Anything and, now, Jesse Lacey from Brand New - purely because they don't write songs, they write poetry - and trust me, i know what that is (thanks to the current GCSE English curriculum). To back up my statement of how great his (Jesse) song writing is read the lyrics to Sic Transit Gloria....Glory Fades - a song about sex, where the guy is under pressure - not the girl; written so well it doesn't even reference sex directly - in other words it doesn't contain the word sex or any of its many other forms. Now i am over expressing my love for the lyrics, time to move onto the music. I listened to this album with my finger on the stop button ready, purely because the last Emo album i listened throughout was The Used's self-titled debut, which i hated - purely because i dislike the whole 'hi im a singer and all i do is scream'. Well i was glad that there are next to none screaming in here, with the odd strained line to emphasise the pain the character in the song feels. The music is good enough for an album like this, because the main intention here (which is evident) are the words not the music - so all the music really does is give the words backing. As i love this album so much, i can't really single out a song, but if i had to then start with the single hit Sic Transit Gloria....Glory Fades - purely because this is the one most people like.
Fegelv
I would say emo music is more along the lines of Appleseed Cast, Jejune, Mineral or Christie Frontdrive .... MCR is radio/mtv friendly pop music. Emo comes from Emotive Hardcore - knowledge is power.
