My copy is flawless and sounds fantastic on my setup. However, mine is a transluscent red and not opaque as the sticker advertises. Not sure how limited this is, but only one of my local Target's had a few copies. Get on it while they're still available in store.

Beautiful Pressing! The packaging is A+ as well! I wish that this was 2LP / Gatefold just because I previously owned that version & squishing 12 tracks onto one disc can lead to problems with some people's pressings. I think that the quality is landing on the good side with a little surface noise here and there. I am happy to own this color way because I know it'll get rare once target decides to stop pressing new copies.

I think I have this copy. Matrix numbers exactly like mentioned here. I also think I have a misprint label on side B. Label is white, without text, not even 'B' on it. More people recognise this? Furthermore: if this is a 2017 repress, I don't see the year 2017 printed anywhere (only 2012).

Just got this today, not an expert with what makes a vinyl sound good or not, but I know distortion when I hear it, and this is surprisingly (mostly) free of it. National Anthem and Dark Paradise had their moments but nothing you'd notice without actively looking for it. With the whole album crammed onto one disc, it leaves not a lot of empty space, but the quality is there, as usual with Lana records.My own note: Re-pressing on red is smart, collectors love colored vinyl. Hopefully they re-press Paradise and Ultraviolence in color at some point too. If i were you I would definitely pick this up if you can before it gets discontinued and the price skyrockets.

My pressing of this album (purchased at FYE) fortunately came clean and scuff free. The album itself sounds great. the bass on my press is not lacking at all and it doesn't sound terribly compressed, unlike "Pray For The Wicked" which just sounds absolutely munched and is now my base comparison for what vinyl shouldn't sound like. If you enjoy Lana Del Rey I feel this is a good pick up.

definitely not the brilliant pressing.but not the worst at the same time.Lana's voice fits on vinyl perfectly.but, for sure, it deserve better release quality, than You get here.I didn't listen other versions of this album. While the album itself is excellent, this pressing leaves much to be desired. On my copy, the edges weren't cut very well leaving some jagged edges which were also very uneven. In terms of sound quality, I would give this a 3/5 as the dynamics are quite limited. Bass isn't very impactful and present and the sound tends to be on the brighter side. In general, this sounds very compressed and not as open and dynamic as it's high quality digital counterpart.For the price I paid, I'm generally happy with this purchase, but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for this pressing.

I can't compare to the original 2012 2xLP pressing but I have to say this pressing sounds great. It's quite dynamic and the instruments are well separated and not muddy by any means. Only critiques are that my copy came quite scratched (thanks to the bloody paper sleeves) so I was getting regular pops during some of the songs even after a deep clean plus the vocals sounded distorted during the high notes in the chorus of Video Games.It's well worth a purchase if you love the album.

Salivated over finding this LP yesterday. The LP looks like its been played and then repackaged. paper scuff marks on both sides, smudges and something that look suspiciously like ring wear . A. Side sounds Relatively good, some minor clicks and pops. B: Side sounds like a VG+ . I liked the packaging and the paper quality was good by todays standars. Guess someone must have salivated harder over this or the damage may have been caused during shipping or storage?. Thankfully I dont see this very often, without the flaws the pressing seemed alright.

This is a good pressing. I bought a copy used and while it was very dirty at first, deep cleaning it helped massively. It was probably dirty out of the factory from those darn paper sleeves, which I immediately replaced with plastic ones after cleaning and you should too.Sound quality is good. I think there's some clarity on the vinyl (mostly vocals) that's lacking in the CD. Though the CD does some of the thundering lows better (like in Summertime Sadness).I do not have the US vinyl to compare to; I can imagine how cramming this album into a single LP would negatively affect the sound. The bonus songs on side D are nice. I would like it if more artists had their music pressed onto 3 sides with the 4th side containing bonus songs.

Bought this version Last Year (Its only been 2017 for a day, so i still forget its 2017 lol) only because when i first got into collecting vinyl records, i didn't know shit & thought the bonus tracks weren't listed on the US release, & that they were hidden. I payed $20 for the standard US version in 2014 & it sounded pretty good, but i knew i was gonna get this one day & sell the old copy. Well this year i found it for only $15 & freaked out. They have This release & The Standard sold for the same price, because i don't think they saw what was different about it. Everywhere that carries it around me has both versions for the same price. Now this copy did have a lot more popping, but i think its because it had paper on it fro the sleeve. Now it sounds just as great as the old copy i owned, plus its nice to have the bonus tracks now. I would get this if you are a fan of hers (I mean probably every fan owns this by now, i mean we all know how her fans are). Now we get into why i got this, because people ether love her or hate her & i know some people will think I'm just some kid praising her, which is not what i do. I found Lana when paradise had just came out. She was kind of the first indie/alternative music i had actually listened to/picked out myself & it was something different for me back then. Would i probably freak over her now?.....No. I think she makes good music & i buy all her albums, but its not as great as a lot of people make it seem. TBH i probably pick out like a few songs i like from the album & play those mostly. I will say Born To Die had a lot on that album, but i still didn't like a few of the songs on it. I do put it in my record collection starter kit, when people ask me what to start out with. Do i think there is better albums by different artist to buy first on vinyl? yeah i do. Examples are Erotica by Madonna, Back to Black or anything else by Amy Winehouse (I would personally start with Back to Black Tho, its only $12), Pom Pom or Before Today by Ariel Pink, The velvet Underground & Nico Album, i mean i could go on & on about it, but you get my point.

I bought my copy in 2014 & IT Sounded great. I don't think i had a lot of pops & no skipping at all! I played that copy to death because i ended up buying the bonus track version & selling my old copy. TBH tho you should probably just go with that version because its the same price & the gate fold looks better then the lyric sheet they give you. I thought mine was a good pressing tho.

Yes. The same thing. Especially when i replaced standart paper sleeves with antistatic ones. The problem lessened after several listens, but didn't disappear totally.

A lot of newer albums do it depending on the label and artist. Lana Del Rey has not done it with any US Pressing. Shes under Interscope Records, which is the same label Lady gaga is under & i know lady gaga albums don't include download codes. I know amazon has gives a free Mp3 version if you buy from them, I Did that with my paradise vinyl.

I bought a copy in the US today (6/17) - but my copy has a different bar code sticker on the rear sleeve (the same barcode as the US original single LP release - 602527950891. Should I assume that this doesn't require a separate release and is simply something done by the US distributor or in store ? It laso has a Made in Czech Republic Sticker on the sleeve.

At first I was surprised how dynamic it sounded since I wasn't expecting anything special when I purchased. However, two songs in it started popping. Took a look at the vinyl, and sure enough there are pin sized bubbles in the vinyl on both sides. 2 on side A and 2 on side B in different areas. The label is also placed off center. This is definitely a slap job pressing. Gonna try to exchange it for another. Hopefully this was just a fluke and the next one will be fine.

I've owned the US pressing for a couple years now. This blows it out of the water. Absolutely night and day. There is dynamic range, clarity, the highs are luscious, the bass is tight. I'm so damn happy with it. If there's surface noise, clean it. No it's not ideal but it fixes the problem.

I recently received two complaints from buyers that the copy of this record they received actually contained music by a band called Wildhoney. I have yet to receive any copies of this back to confirm it. Never heard of this happening before. Of course, on the other hand, I see this album is pressed at URP, and they have a reputation for taking manufacturing quality to a whole new level of low...

Sound quality on my copy is mediocre, it has lots of bumps/holes that cause low frequency noise when the needle passes them. Most of them are on the A side. Overall decent pressing (especially from United) though with no major flaws.

I hadn’t really heard about Lana Del Rey until a friend in the UK recommended this album to me. This was at the exact same time that another friend recommended “The Scarred People” by Tiamat that happens to include a cover of Lana’s “Born To Die” and, for a while, I didn’t know which version was the original!Anyway, my first impression upon hearing Lana’s sensuous yet cynical crooning was that she was yet another retro-modern songstress along the lines of Amy Winehouse and Duffy. However, the lush yet minimalist arrangements really make Lana’s vocal shine. There’s something about the contrast of her voice against the bittersweet lyrics that really kept me listening.There are some flashes of brilliance here where songs like “Born To Die”, “Video Games”, “Summertime Sadness” and “Lucky Ones” capture the mood perfectly.Even the bonus disc is full of great songs, like “Ride” and “Blue Velvet”, which manages to show that Lana has no problem keeping the good songs coming.Unlike Amy Winehouse and Duffy, this album delivers consistently good songs. Good job, Lana!

It seems most pressing plants have lost touch with HOW to make records properly. The trend that's been noticed in most LPs manufactured today are slap-dash labels that look like test pressings; this one is no exception.

Nice packaging and what appears to be good, heavyweight vinyl. I am slightly concerned about the mastering job on these records --- the bottom end just doesn't hit like it should. I don't notice the crackling noises that the previous reviewer is hearing. Nitpicking aside, this is a great "pop" album, perhaps even an iconic document of the post-2008, iPhone generation. Try it both on vinyl and mp3. 4/5
