This record sounds how I wished all new records would sound. Fantastic!

Just what IS IT with these bloody huge dead wax run-offs on the vinyl playing surface of all these reissues (and these definitive NIN ones in particular)? Is this some sort of new fad - to have the grooves as small and tightly packed as possible thus compromising the dynamic range or something? Unless I am missing something here. Surely by doing this it's easier to have them scuffed and scratched, thus compromising the playback? Anybody who is a vinyl connoisseur offer an insight into why this is?
Frostdefender
This thing sounds so LOUD AND STRONG! Maybe the best remastered NIN reissue..??
Modimeena
Side 1 on my copy is off center, but the rest is fine. Pallas is really slipping lately. Even the QOTSA "Song for the Deaf" reissue has 2 off center sides and if I'm not mistaken the Paul's Boutique 30th anniversary is off center on 3. But overall, the With Teeth reissue is great, with the exception of it being off center on the first four tracks.
Legionstatic
Happy to finally own this album on vinyl. Really don’t have anything new to add that’s already been said about these NIN reissues. Top quality all around. Fair price. Poly lined inner sleeves. Handled with care. Engaging remastered sound. What I do like is that this album on vinyl offers a more intimate and detailed listening experience than the CD I’ve listened to for years. I know it’s cliche to say but it’s like hearing this album for the first time again. That lowdown gritty bass and hardcore drums seriously moved my chair (Can’t believe that’s not a drum machine but actually Dave Grohl on some tracks!). Definitely get this.
Elizabeth
Absolutely. It's a fantastic package all-around. Also,  MEllODrOnE just need to say this: I see your comments all the time. You've got great taste in music.
Xar
I managed to compare the new remaster with the stupidly expensive previous release, and the new one is definitely the one to own. I just found I had to turn the volume up to get the same level as the previous release. Not a problem at all, of course, because there is so much more to hear on this new one.
Prinna
Vinyl and packaging = top quality. Very thorough experience. Bonus: HiRes 24bit/96 dl available with digital voucher. Trent and crew continue to deliver a fresh experience with their definitive reissues.
Saberblade
Just found the download code in my LP jacket… had to search for it.. easy to miss if you didn't know to look for it !
Najinn
Are you saying there is a download code with the new VINYL release ??I did not notice a code in my LP jacket..
Mr.Champions
the album has been released on amazon and other platforms as of today
Vojar
Not yet on amazon UK or anywhere in the UK yet unfortunately.
Kelezel
Has this been released in the UK yet or have I missed out? Can’t seem to find it available anywhere.
Xtintisha
Got mine. The remaster and pressing is honestly one of the best NIN has done. Can’t believe it’s been 15 years since this album dropped. It’s only gotten better with age and this pressing is immaculate, adds a tad of warmth but keeps the sterile digital sound. Remember these are mostly live instruments, this is the NIN vinyl to own. Hope they press Still.
Enditaling
Just got it today! Sounds crazy good. This remaster is excellent.
Agamaginn
Is there a new reissue coming out in January? I'm confused if what is on preorder on Amazon is this press or a different one? Thanks.
Bedy
its for the reissue that was released last month. it was limited to release through the nin.com website. mainstream release is this month. this happened with broken and fragile releases.i'm actually surprised how quick the mainstream retail release is happening this time around. it took a while for broken and the two fragile releases in 2018.
Rleillin
crazy prices for the original are still so high considering the superior reissue.
Goodman
My copy came in today and i just finished listening to it. goddamn great. waited years for this reissue to happen and damn they did an amazing job. this one sound much more deep and lush than the original. thank you TR. the original is just plain flat sounding.fuck the scalpers and their absurd prices. don't bother with the original because 1. it will be warped if its still sealed and 2. the reissue is far superior to it. now TR, can we please get Fixed reissued????
SlingFire
ianatorcharles Why would an original be warped? I recently opened a sealed record from 1977, totally flat. well, we're talking about 2005 and nin releases. two lps that are 110 g probably in a double lp fold tightly wrapped....not some single lp from 1977 that probably had a single sleeve and the wrapping was probably stretched over time. i've owned two with teeth originals. they were tightly wrapped by the manufacturer. i'm not the only one who has said this. did you own one? same thing happened to nin ghosts lps. wrapped very very tightly and poor packaging for 4 lps that are probably 110 g. plus, why even bother arguing the point i made? loland the other thing - this pressing is much better than the original and its 180g. not going to be warped.
Boraston
Why would an original be warped? I recently opened a sealed record from 1977, totally flat.
Road.to sliver
I'm so happy this finally released! It sounds magnificent! Nothing less than what I would expect from Trent Reznor. Listening to "You Know What You Are?" when it got to the end and that raw, distorted bassline rips through the ending chords before those last quiet tones fade away...all in pristine vinyl quality...gave me chills. This is one of my all-time favorite NIN albums, so I'm going to play this one till my ears bleed. Love it!
Silverbrew
The hype sticker said it better than I could: AT LONG LAST. Announced two (three?) years ago, the Definitive Edition campaign Trent and Co. have started is finally crossing over into the 2000's with this reissue of the long out of print With Teeth ([WITH_TEETH] if you're nasty) and, thankfully, it's worth the wait.Let's start with the most important part: the records themselves. Like the previous reissues, the pressing quality is superb, without any surface marks, warping or any other defect (large or small) present on the LPs. They play dead quiet when it comes to surface noise, but lively and loud when it comes to the music. The remaster really shines here, with the rhythm section sounding more bombastic than ever before, allowing songs like "The Line Begins To Blur" and "The Collector" to sound absolutely massive. The only knock I could make on the sound quality is a very tiny nitpick, which was apparent in the original import CDs as well and I'm only guessing was the same with the original vinyl press which I've never heard: the bonus track "Home" sounds like it was recorded in a different studio or by a different engineer, as there are just some small differences in how it all comes together versus the rest of the songs. This remaster smooths that out a little more, but it doesn't perfectly blend. Again, this is a TINY nitpick, because honestly, I don't think they could have made this pressing better if they tried. What really impressed me, however, are the little, attended to details mentioned on the hype sticker. Even moreso than the previous reissues, these details truly make the entire package an immersive experience, from the gatefold sharing the texture of the original CDs (and maybe the vinyl?), to it coming with a reformatted version of the original, download-only lyric poster (with the three extra tracks that didn't make it onto the record, including "The Warning" with actual but barely legible lyrics this time confirming it's an early version of the same track from Year Zero!), it all comes together to make it easy to follow Papa Reznor's order of turning your fucking phone off while listening. Also, the version I ordered from NIN.com came with a download at time of order, along with a download card in the record itself. If these records hit stores later, I don't know if they will follow suit, as some of the previous reissues did not.I'm easily swayed by these reissues, but this one truly surprised me by just how much work obviously went into making this a reissue that truly not only felt necessary due to the second hand prices, but as a labor of love for Trent and a fantastic definitive product for fans. As with anything NIN related, there will be a very vocal minority that will poke holes in it and complain that it's a vinyl only remaster, or that the dynamic range is more squashed, or that the differences are so small that you can't tell, but don't let them tell you otherwise: this is THE definitive edition of With Teeth. Take it from someone who's listened to this album more than the sound of their own voice, I couldn't be happier.EDIT: I do have one pretty major issue with this reissue, however. The included retrospective booklet, while informative and filled with really fantastic photos, has some weird inaccuracies. Songs are incorrectly titled and there's just some blatantly wrong things stated, like it being said that Jerome Dillon plays none of the drum parts when he, in fact, is credited on the album itself. Kinda weird that these slipped by, but at the end of the day, they're small things. Just kind of annoying when something like that is said, almost trying to erase someone from the history of the record and belittle their contributions.
Molace
Thanks Tongue_Druid! I appreciate your response! Cheers and happy new year, - Jeff
Kikora
Tongue_Druid is correct! Plus, the original lyric booklet had the lyrics to The Warning so distorted, they were completely illegible. On the booklet for this reissue, they are more legible, but just barely, allowing it to be seen that they share some common lyrics with what ended up as The Warning on Year Zero.
Zbr
jeff_9 Great review Doomguy13! The only thing I was a little bit confused about was how did you get The Warning?Cheers,-Jeff He meant the lyrics are included in the lyric booklet that comes w this pressing. It was previously only a download-only lyric book that had the 3 extra song lyrics that didnt make it onto With Teeth, one of which being The Warning
Hrguig
Great review Doomguy13! The only thing I was a little bit confused about was how did you get The Warning?Cheers,-Jeff

unfortunately the original, in this case, has nothing on the reissue. i would know, i've got both.plus, the prices on here for the original are just pure stupid and greedy.
Thordibandis
There will always be someone who wants the original. :)
Velan
its only on nin store ? i hope record store will get some

I've been awaiting this day for sooo long. Here's to hoping it sounds clean ????

The Fragile was like this in price before the repress def edition, don't worry everyone
Tiainar
I love the DVD menu, really gets you immersed in the album
The Sphinx of Driz
Shit, careful what you wish for. I craved a straight rock record from NIN since I took a trip down the rabbit hole of their discography and stumbled on "PHM" - this is not what I wanted. Grohl on drums is a cool attraction as is the single "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" (off of one of the soundtracks for one of the greatest comic books turned movies "Wanted", shoutout to the Millarverse) but the album plays like the theme of the single. It's generic rock, which is not generic of any NIN release I have heard yet. The most voclas that I have heard from Reznor since "PHM" or "Spiral" and to be honest, the years have not been kind to those vocals on this release. Plus I heard it on youtube, so many of the tracks were redacted for stupid copyright reasons. Overall, not the best NIN listening experience.
Goldfury
Did the last lot of NIN reissues ever happen? I was waiting for months and months, checking the website every day to see if they were available. In the end I got bored and stopped checking. Just checked tonight and they’re showing as sold out. For some reason though, no one has listed these reissues on Discogs - did they ever actually happen?
Maucage
Hasn't happened yet, With Teeth, Yero Zero & The Slip are currently listed as Coming Soon.
Seevinev
Yeah, been waiting like 2 years now. Lost interest in it at this point.
Vetalol
No. At this point they can't even press a single track (Halloween) without using the wrong mix, so maybe it's for the best?
Throw her heart
Such a great release and probably my overall favorite drop by Trent. I might have to double dip on the repress, but my Nothing/Interscope double black vinyl set sounds really good.
Cobandis
Very well made piece of music. Sound is perfect like every NIN release.
Jeronashe
I have a copy with 17 tracks (bonus: Closer, Ruiner and The Becoming). It looks like an Azian version but all titles are printed in English as well. Can't find it anywhere on the internet and not on Discogs. Is anybody familiar with this release??
Bloodhammer
It's a bootleg. There are no official versions that would include The Downward Spiral tracks at the end of another album.
Faehn
Been digging through this DVD and did not find any "high resolution audio files." all i found were DolbyDigital stereo and 5.1 unfortunately.
Macill
The DVD side of this Dual Disc has a DVD-A layer that only can be read by a DVD-A or universal player. This layer has the high resolution versions of the album (stereo and multichannel). Not all DVD players can reach this layer so they will see only the DVD-V layer which contains the DolbyDigital stereo and 5.1 versions that you're talking about.
CrazyDemon
You need a DVD-Audio capable player to access the non-Dolby tracks (those are for regular DVD players), or computer software that can access and extract the high-res audio like DVDAExplorer. Trust me, it's all there.
NI_Rak
''DolbyDigital stereo and 5.1'' is "high resolution audio".The audio in this release even has higher Dynamic Range than any other ''With Teeth'' CD release.Bit rate mode : ConstantBit rate : 4 608 KbpsChannel(s) : 2 channelsSampling rate : 96.0 KHzBit depth : 24 bits

AJRangel22 Thank you very much! That really helped me out. I'm curious, what did you want it for?

Hello, sorry for the late reply.Thank you very much! That really helped me out.
Mr.Savik
Here's the scan you requested. Check out nincatalog.org for detailed notes on most of NIN's releases. http://nincatalog.com/media/item_images/613-03.jpg
Runehammer
really wish this would get repressed.
Lailace
That's pretty awesome. You can't really argue with the mathematical facts. The big thing is that people want vinyl for aesthetic purposes when it comes to digitally recorded music.
Akinohn
https://store.nin.com/collections/music/products/with-teeth-vinylYou and I and all the other NIN fans who want this on vinyl are in luck.
FailCrew
Me too! I have it on SACD, but would love a vinyl copy!
Ionzar
Yea, same here. I have this and the Fragile in NM/M but I hardly ever play 'em. Would be nice to have repress listening copies of both. It is worth it to invest in original pressings as their value only seems to go up over time.

Although I know it's little comfort due to the superiority of the vinyl format and all, the dualdisc CD/DVD release of the album actually has the album in 24-bit, 96khz stereo, and 24-bit, 48khz 5.1 surround, if it's just the higher-quality audio you're looking for.

You're far from the only one. :/

I won't enter into any discussion with anybody. Just want to give my honest opinion to the general public an NIN fans alike. I think this production is a bit step forward into Trent Reznor' music composing. Yes, there are some weak compositions. Also, there are other ones very much alike what NIN is right now, and was then, before With Teeth. The opening track is a weak one, but, You know what you are?, The Collector, are perfect NIN aggressive approach to music. Even, The Hands that Feeds, Everyday is Exactly the Same and Only (sounds kind of commercial) are great tracks, in my opinion. Then, will keep on that aggressiveness with, Love is Not Enough, Getting Smaller, The Line Begins To Blur (this one sounds more like some music composed on The Fragile era). Need to point that all Dave Grohl Drums [Live] parts, were very good, to great, as so was Jereome Dillon' ones. The 2 closing tracks are not good enough for my taste. But, the extra track, the perfect one to close this With Teeth version, Home, is not musically that complicated, but I love it and, Jerome Dillon, did an excellent job on his drum parts, stands out, like a fist on your face, and Trent Reznor, adding his electric bass and guitar parts, plus a bit of [drone] treatments, makes this composition a perfect one. So, as a whole, it is not a perfect NIN album, but for those tracks mentioned above, it's worth investing on the, With Teeth [Limited Tour Edition] CD.

The best version of this album is the Japanese version as it has ALL the additional songs on it(Home, Right Where It Belongs V.2 and The Hand That Feeds (Ruff Mix)). I really think that this is one of the things that set Trent off in regards to his albums, the fact that Interscope was jerking around his fans and releasing so many variations.

A very good release. This is a more stripped down, almost radio friendly approach to Nine Inch Nails. Again, Trent is avoiding repetition, which is a good thing. This has some of Trent's Best songs (The Hand That Feeds, All the Love in the World, Right Where It Belongs) but overall is not one of his best albums. This one is better than Broken in my opinion, but inferior to the rest. It does have some interesting gems such "The Line Begins To Blur" and "Beside You In Time." The vinyl version also includes "Home" which is better than some of the tracks on the CD version. Vinyl folks out there-get this on LP instead. Not the best, but a great effort nonetheless! 4/5

This is the most dissapointing album I have ever heard in my entire life. I actually anticipated the album a lot because NIN is THE most influential music in my life. After hearing The Hand That Feeds on the radio a few times prior to its release, I did not completely lose my hopes; the radio usually features some of the worst songs from some of the best albums. After burning an advance copy illegally, with the plan to purchase the album upon its release, I quickly learned that The Hand That Feeds truly is one of the better tracks on the album. After one listen, I literally threw the CD away and lost a lot of respect for Trent Reznor. I cannot say I have completely lost respect for NIN because his earlier work is some of the best music ever made. I just think that it would have been a better career move to stop making music than to do like Metallica did and start making horrible music.

Your opinion sounds strange to me. WITH TEETH (8/10) is not DOWNWARD SPIRAL (10/10). But for me is a TOP ALBUM! Also, YEAR ZERO is worst for me (6/10). Tastes, tastes, tastes always tastes.......

I would be a terrible therapist, you are correct. I wrote this shortly after listening and may have come off a bit harsh. It actually was a joke with the drugs and torment part; I have deleted my misinterpretation. I agree with you; his life is important. He is a musician and was born to be one. As soon as he stops making good music, which he has, then I don't really have a reason to listen anymore. If his change in formula was good, I would still like his music. Unfortunately this is not the case. If you still like the watered down crap he's putting out, then great, more power to you. I wish I could get off on crappy music, but I cannot, so my search for good will continue.

Think about it: "With teeth" suggest a projection of agressiveness and solid musical stand but that in reality miserably fails into a weaker/brainless pop tentative. I will thwart that title with a pity euphemism: Toothless. History has shown that theres indeed some weakening impulse on bands in through the years and an urge to create more "compatible" musical material for audience in order to emancipate their will of profit that will sustain their well accustomed burgueois lifestyles. Metallica is a clear spot followed by NIN. Bands with a name and a style, even with some kind of "ideology" (metallica probably more) that promptly got dissolved into the futile, insipid, uninspired radio chart, global radio style and the tempting proximity of the crowds. NIN doesnt pretend to be "industrial" anymore, he shows his real face, the real depth that always had. The bones are visible and all the leather and the spikes are out. And we can see an skelleton made with marshmellows, not even bones. The opening song was intended to be a radio hit. alternative sounding, funky and disco rythm. originality or brilliant idea? you tell me!. then we find a song after song of common coarsed pop with some NIN typical sounds, a mouse making noises behind the pop structure. yeah he needs to remind yourself what he used to be...with some noises. the last two songs reminds a bit of "the fragile" but completely lacks any strong emotion or even some accent of honesty. songs for closing a weak album? yeah we have some. why dont we try what we did before? The future of NIN is probably clear. Trent using Hilfinger sweaters for advertising, singing in duo with Madonna on stage, making more videos for MTV and "mixing influences" with some unknown latin band in order to "recreate" his career. Whereas there was a "mastermind" here it is necessary to ask ourselves: to where he left? at least where his "industrial pop" music is it? nothing... toothless. Comformity and setback way to go!

Im so sorry you didnt like it!! I cant believe Trent would do this to you! Why would anyone create an album of artistic expression at all if a fan would react this way??? I'm not sure what is so special about "artists" anyways? The point is they are manufacturers working under contract of the record company, but most importantly they are only allowed to work in such privileged of all professions if every single fan experiences what they want to experience. (DISCLAIMER: I have terrible taste, and I don't know anything, and I am some stupid California moron Vegan that doesnt know what REAL industrial music is or ever was. And I'm ugly. END DISCLAIMER) I LOVED this album, when it came out until now basically, but after reading your disappointment I no longer care for this band at all. Youre right. Everyone wanted a return to the bottom of the downward spiral and everyone wanted to be lost in the murky ether of the fragile, and noone wanted Dave freak Grohl drumming all over their industrial head bang circle jerk. I'm really sorry. When I'm done writing a very spiteful letter to mr reznor, I'm going to throw this stupid double LP (I have the "expensive" $300 rare double vinyl) in the trash because it hurts smart people who know a lot about music, like you. You are a real patriot you know that? I hate when stupid art music makers think they can do whjatever they want and get away with it.

Good gosh. What's the real problem? The artist has to repeat himself ad nauseum? Your complaint might hold more water if TR was doing what you say. But as well as any more commercial sounding music he's also generating moody ambient stuff clearly not written fro the masses. Have to disagree that the artist is being obvious or selling out or phoning it in. I don't have time for it all but the good stuff is magical.

While this album is definately on a softer note compared to past NIN releases, I personally feel that it is still a very solid album from the genius that is Trent Reznor. Immediately tracks that stand out include The Line Begins to Blur, Love is not Enough and yes, even The Hand That Feeds (with moments that hark back to Prett Hate Machine). I will admit that some tracks (Only being the main one) caused me to think that Trent had gone Electroclash, but on the whole this album comes across as big success. Definately worth the money of any NIN fan.

Perhaps Trent is getting older (when wearing a black sweater in past photo shoots, he has looked rather like a soccer mom), or perhaps the substance abuse has caught up with him. Or perhaps he just listened to the radio a bit too much and his brain's gone soft, but this is the most "pop" NIN album, and not in a good way. The industrial edge of earlier work is gone. He sings a lovely falsetto, has harmonizing vocals, and includes a tambourine, and that's only the first track. I could almost see people clapping along and swaying rhythmically in some stadium, wearing the shirt they just bought, and a notable lack of spikes or leather. But I like that song, especially when compared to the boring, repetitive vocals on the following tracks. "The Hand That Feeds", the first radio track, which has all the pointy industrial edges softened for mass consumption. "Only" starts with what I could only call a nu-disco beat, and is joined by a funky bass line. Yes, funky. And instead of screaming and spitting teeth, or whispering his dark dreams to us, he speaks, and he reminds me of Ben Folds for some reason. But Ben is fun, and Trent is supposed to be a bit scary. Even when he does scream some obscenities, I'm just thinking of Ben Folds on a bad day, an alternative rocker gone a bit dark, perhaps with an ex-metal band as the new guitarist. Only on the last two tracks really appease me. Mind you, these aren't filled with the vitriol and rusty barbs that used to rend my ears, but they're the slightly spooky quiet tracks. Perhaps Trent is only a specter of the past monster he played, or perhaps that costume no longer fits.

To make your point, I noticed you only picked on the released singles...

For me the real problem is the weak material.
