I’ve seen a lot of complaints about this pressing, but I got a copy cheaply enough that it was worth it for the lenticular cover alone. Was pleasantly surprised to find the record itself was pristine. Not warped or scuffed at all, and it sounds amazing. DEEP bass, crisp horns, clear vocals. Ideally, you should probably pick this up at a shop where they’ll let you listen to it first... but there are definitely good copies of this pressing out there!

Starchild Zapp July 22,2019 : this album is one of the motherlode's of funk music, this is a landmark album for p-funk, it change the world and face and sound of funk music as we know today, p-funk took funk to a level nobody cant fuck with period, and its still kicking ass to this date, the only group that can go toe to toe with them is: earth, wind and fire, with help of one William Bootsy Collins on this and many other p-funk albums to follow after, p-funk is in a league of there own and history they have laid down speaks volumes, you will never ever see anything like this world again, may in the next world, this album is a must have, George retiring at the end of this year and Bootsy having to stop touring at the beginning of this year, to all go and see them while you can and enjoy the real funk because there's only one P-FUNK , P.S. happy birthday George, promise to funk, promise to keepth the funk, the hold funk nothin' but the FUNK, the P that is!!!!

Parliament/Funkadelic mixes and mastering are all over the place over the years. This master and pressing of Mothership Connection is one of the best-sounding P-Funk albums out there. Good, clean bottom end, controlled midrange, and crisp treble the whole way through. Good separation, no mud, no smearing.

A very 80s sounding cut of this funk classic which may not be to everyone's taste. Unlike the bassier cuts of the original engineer Allen Zentz, this reissue has a LOT of top end detail. I actually like the sound overall, even if it's slightly anachronistic.

I love this reissue! I think it sounds amazing, especially from what I remember from my original pressing from 1975. Certainly my audio system is light years better than what I had back then. Why look for an original from 1975 and pay triple the price? Seems cra-cra to me......

I was only able to hear Side B of "The Mothership Connection", which had my antennas more in tune than years earlier when I came across a copy of "The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein". The intro of "Supergroovalistic..." transcends time and is instantly ear catching. "Handcuffs" holds the discs catchiest hook until the infamous "Give Up The Funk" starts up which provides no more than audio bliss, leading to the "Thumpasarous" outro which caps off a ride on The Mothership, showing a hip-hop purist like me that the funk can be enjoyed without a "G", just maybe only in small quantities.

Another pristine copy of this pressing found in London Ontario. Mine has zero warping or damage. Sounds awesome.Sidenote: The 3D cover is removable, held on with two 'dabs' of stretchy glue that don't leave gunk on the regular non-3D album artwork when you remove the plastic 3D cover.

This pressing is 180 Gram vinyl and sounds excellent. It's quiet in the quiet parts as well (like the breakdown on "P Funk") Love how warm "Give Up The Funk" (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker) sounds. Play it loud on your old school night DJs.

I bought this record from two different retailers and both times the record has had scratches and horrible scuffing from sleeve wear right out of the packAge. It's a shame cuz the record itself sounds amazing horns are sharp and bass is deep, hopefully one day I will find a copy that doesn't oo like it was used as a hockey puck

If anyone is wondering if this sounds good, wonder no more. My copy is dead quiet, and the instrumentation is lush beyond belief. The bass in particular THUMPS (and I've only got a solid entry/mid-level set-up). No reason to chase down an OG copy in questionable condition for too much money when you can snag this and hear the album as good as ever. To the other review, more like a bad batch, not a bad pressing. Mine's as flat as a board.

I just purchased this copy. Heavy vinyl, 180g. I found in $1 bin, i was thinking it was a '70s pressing...? Its listed as repress per Discogs, was this still an early pressing on 180 vinyl? This is the definitive album that stands the test of time. It never should have taken as long as it did for these guys to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The CONNECTION is truly as groundbreaking today as it was back in 75'!!!

There are no words for this album. Just listen to it. An intergalactic and ecstatic masterpiece."P. Funk", "Mothership Connection", and "Give Up the Funk" are incredible. "Unfunky UFO" and "Thumpasaurus Peoples" are very good as well. "Supergroove" and "Handcuffs" are skippable.It makes me sad to think that so many people lack such funk in their lives!
