Like Clockwork seems more focused than any other Queens of the Stone Age effort. The emphasis is on full-fledged songs in lieu of improvisation. Every track is rendered with admirable precision, retaining the attributes that have always made the outfit's music such a precious commodity. On top of that, Homme puts in his most enthralling vocal performance thus far, making the transitions between his natural voice and signature falsetto even smoother. The LP showcases Queens of the Stone Age at their most immediate when it revolves around robust cuts that amaze with a unique symbiosis of dense riffs and tight rhythms

I really like this album, I love 45rpm pressings. I wish they did everything in 45rpm. I hardly have any static or surface noise as what many people are complaing about. Very good pressing, highly recommended.
Akelevar
One of my favorite albums of all time.I was a bit disappointed by the quality of the specific copy that I have. There are many cracks and pops throughout; however, it is a huge improvement over the hideous Newbury Comics version.Vinyl-wise, I much prefer the S/T and LtP copies that I own over this.
VAZGINO
No problems very good sounds 45rpm. Very good pressing. Top
Talrajas
No mislabeling on my copy (or hype sticker), same runout etc. Sounds great.
Framokay
I love this album, but there is a lot of surface noise, even after cleaning. It is still listenable, though.
breakingthesystem
Are there any copies that match this exactly but are black instead of red? My copy's runouts match this entry perfectly but it's black instead of red. Doesn't match any of the other pressings. Bought off amazon for less than $20.

Westened
where are the vocals? They’re fucking BURIED? inaudible almost. Wonder if it’s just my copy
Uscavel
Sounds fantastic on 45 speed! Would definitely recommend this on vinyl!
Slowly writer
Went through two copies on Amazon before giving up. Too much surface noise/crackling after cleaning.
Fearlessrunner
Was very excited to find this at Newbury Comics when visiting Boston.Listened to it for the first time today and was disappointed to find that like others have mentioned, some of the sides are warped. Side D was the worst, with the piano on the final track sounding like "twang↴twang↴" with a huge pitch shift. For collection purposes only.Edit: Newbury Comics staff were very friendly and helpful in sending me a sending me a replacement. Unfortunately, the second copy had the same problem. 5 stars for the service, 1 star for the product.
Agantrius
I have the exact same problems on my copy too... just received it in Paris (5* to The Vinyl Dealer), was very excited to listen to it but had to stop on the end of side B, and side D is just the worst... so disappointed!
Unirtay
It's selling again through Newbury. Grabbed myself a copy this time, and it's limited to 1 copy per customer; the way it should always be. Some have complained about the records being warped, but I decided to take a chance anyway.
Lamranilv
I am pretty sure everyone's D side is off centered. Since that would be an issue with the pressing plate.
????????????????????????
Did you receive your copy? Same pressing? let us know if side D is off centered too
I_LOVE_228
My copy has the warped side d too. Compared it to my pallas and there is clearly a pressing default. We should petition newbury to repress second disc as it seems all copy have the issue
Shadowredeemer
Unfortunately it seems like a decent number of copies have issues with warping or wobble while playing side D.Does anyone know what pressing plant did this? The old deluxe Pallas press still seems to be the best sounding according to reviews on here and other forums.
Burirus
I have two copies. Both are badly warped and the D side on both is press so far off center it changes the tone (sometimes called “wow”) noticeably. Collectible in rarity only, as it’s an absolute shite press. YMMV ????‍♂️
Lilegha
Since Newbury didn't press this album it will be a lot of wasted energy. Matador had this record pressed and you should talk to them about the job that was done on this.
Virtual
Yeah it seems like a lot of people are having some issues with side D wobble in particular.
Landamath
what weight is this album? 180? 160? is this the same as the regular version or the deluxe?
Nilasida
They got me, I just payed 60 bucks for this candy on ebay.
komandante
haha and definitely worth every gar darn cent of it!
Voodoosida
It doesn't matter that they're limited to 750 copies. The best strategy is to hold out from purchasing, and that will force the sellers to bring down the prices. That's how it usually works with RSD and other limited edition presses. This was only released a week ago, and we've already seen the prices drop. Good luck!
post_name
Classic mistake! At least 10 words must be entered. Please enter at least 7 more.
Mananara
That might bring the first run of scalpers' prices down. Wait until there's a few months with no available copies and someone puts one up for a couple hundred or more. Someone out there would buy it.QotSA's got a pretty diehard fanbase, plus you should never underestimate the lengths a vinyl nerd will go to get a holy grail piece on their list.
Whitehammer
limited to ONLY 750 copies???!!! this'll definitely go UP in value when fans/collectors realize it was released
Kitaxe
Aside from a couple of the official colour variants of the first album, I think this might be the most limited piece of vinyl QOTSA have ever released. It's incredible what a small run this was given considering the popularity of the album.
Not-the-Same
Great album and packaging. My copy has a fair bit of distortion on it though. It's not unlistenable, but still enough to be noticeable. Also, the finally track on side D skips very badly. Had to raise my tracking force just to get it to play through.
Kanrad
Finally picked this one up at my local shop. Warped, pressed off-center, and tons of surface noise. Looks like repress, because it has the mark of the beast (United Record Pressing Ⓤ). Then, to add even more insult to injury, I got two duplicate A/B records, which may be common.
The Rollers of Vildar
sounds terrific !!! I've had this for a few years and never bothered to leave a review , but listening to it right now , this is amazing quality ! do not hesitate , this sounds so so so very GOOD !!!! impressive pressing ! High quality !
melody of you
Wonderfully presented artwork and a nice gatefold, The sound is warm and clear and crisp very nice quality.
Truthcliff
Warped and skips through first minute on Side C and D... Went through 2 copies from Amazon with identical problems.
Coiron
Unfortunately my copy of this record is somewhat disappointing. It's a little noisy throughout and while the SQ is acceptable, I expected better from a 45rpm edition. Still a cracking album though!
Perongafa
I wonder if you got a bum copy? Mine, along with friends who own this variant, all agree that it’s a super clean, wide open, expertly mastered cut. I’d request a refund or exchange. Edit - just noticed this post is 2 years old. Sorry.
Yar
Didnt get no Lotteryticket :( . Good sound. But limited when 10000 pressed?
Ricep
I bought this new the other day and can't imagine it sounding better. Dead quiet and full. Highly recommended!
just one girl
Oh, how I wish more artists these days would put this much care into how their music is presented on vinyl. Fantastic sounding record.
Dodo
I have the blue cover signed by everyone that played on it except for Dave and Joey, I know I can get Joey's cuz he's coming to Nashville soon, but Dave Grohl will be a bitch to get.
Oso
Not the biggest fan in the world of the mastering job on this album overall, but I will concur with the rest of the commenters that this is a fantastic cut of an album that has stood up for 3 years anyway as a modern classic. Easily Homme's finest work.
spacebreeze
Outstanding version of this record. Excellent sound in excellent packaging. If you can you buy it.
Tejora
This version (the deluxe 180 gram) is one of my best sounding records. I have quite a few so I don't say (write) this lightly. Off the top of my head, the only better sounding record I own is the reissue of Tom Waits' Mule Variations, and that one my friends, is perfection (as close as this format can afford, anyhow.)
Nalmezar
The version I have is too high at 45 and way too low at 33. The pressing is crazy sounding and at least a half a step too high when played at 45 compared to my mp3 versions. Anyone else had this issue?
Zavevidi
I’m thinking perhaps you should edit your first comment/review. We don’t want people thinking this is a bad pressing. Enjoy the music.
Nakora
I'm an idiot. I just needed to adjust my turntable speed. It sounds awesome
Thoginn
Wow, that was heavy. Thank the gods it's over.Their worst album by miles. It's one hell of a task to get through the whole album without falling asleep, even when someone pops it in the car stereo for me while I'm driving. Now that's dangerous. It's so flat, non-dynamic, and totally unhappening I find it hard to believe that this is the same band that did Lullabies To Paralyze. Not that that one was a flawless masterpiece, but definitely a few cuts above in terms of adventurous songwriting. At least there aren't two consecutive songs on Lullabies that move at the same speed, keeping the rollercoaster vibe alive throughout it.But Like Clockwork? Man.... Every song on this record is so anti-climatic, listening to track after track just looking at the led lights on my amplifier is the equivalent of watching a caterpillar with a limp drag along for an hour. This might just be where I drop them.Just one man's opinion.
Arcanefire
I cannot use the word "worst" for this band. But it's truth that this is not like "songs for the deaf" or "lullabies". It's closer to their fuckin sick album "era vulgaris". But I still like it because there are not many bands out there like QOTSA.
Worla
Was this release also pressed at Pallas the same as Deluxe ?
Phobism
Like the regular version, this Black version appears to be pressed at MPO (as per dead wax). The deluxe edition pressed at Pallas as "P.USA" in the dead wax.
Vudojar
The deluxe heavyweight edition of Queens of the Stone Age's 'Like Clockwork' is highly recommended by myself. I would also say that it is easily one of the best sounding records in my rapidly expanding collection. You may well have to pay a bit of extra money for it; indeed I did. However, I would advise to not let that put you off in the slightest. With the heavyweight edition, you get the LP in an extra thick cover, a booklet with lyrics fixed into the gatefold and the record on double LP, which is a thing of beauty. Sound wise, the record is absolutely perfect, easily one of the best in my collection, if not the best! I feel it is this feature that will be worth your hard earned extra money alone. So, to conclude, what are you waiting for? Make that purchase. Enjoy. Hope this review helps. Thank you for reading.
Preve
Listened to my records today. Am I the only one who hears a woman singing in french with some band playing on background at A-side with speed of 33 rpm? On B-side it's Queens at speed of 45 rpm as it should be. The second LP is perfect playing 45 rpm both sides. This A-side is something completely different. What is this sorcery?
Renthadral
I had the same issue! I thought my roommate changed the speed on my table, but that was definitely not the case!
Yozshunris
maybe you got a rare mispress, keep it, buy a new one, and sell the mispressed one for profit to someone interested
Beazekelv
The download code only gave me MP3. Anyone had this problem, too? :(
Brannylv
This is probably the best sounding vinyl I have in my collection. The presentation of the deluxe edition is truly worth the extra money I paid. It's as if I've received a modern adaptation of some cult classic movie, fresh from the reels. A beautiful thing to behold, especially with the ten tracks that comprise one of the best albums of the year.
Fast Lovebird
Beautiful artwork and a nice package, very well done. The sound is warm and clear, no problem at all.
Bynelad
Got the regular edition and it has no issues. I read a lot of reviews complaining about noise, i guess i got a newer edition with the problem corrected, i compared it to my buddy´s 180g deluxe and sounds the same.
Cerekelv
Is it worth the money for this versus the standard version? I'm quite a fan of tip on covers and 180g vinyl, and that booklet looks amazing, but I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $15 or so it would cost me.
Linn
My copy of this record sounds brilliant. Maybe I don't have the 150g version? Listening to it gave the songs a really incredible live feel.
greed style
The difference between the 150g and 180g pressings is probably negligible. That being said, the vinyl version of this album is VERY well done, so it's bound to sound fantatsic regardless!
Dori
Anyone know how many of these were pressed?
Velan
Is it just me or does the lyrics book has a wrong order? On my copy the lyrics of "i appear missing" comes before "smooth sailing".
Gralsa
I have the standard version already, and picked up the Deluxe edition because I had read that the heavyweight version was pressed better and sounded better too. I just opened my copy and the records were stuck to the inner sleeves, and disc one was so dirty. I'll definitely have to give it a thorough cleaning before playing it, but by the looks of it I'm fairly sure it's not warped. Wish me luck!
MegaStar
(forgive the late response) Cleaning helped tremendously. No pops or clicks. It doesn't sound too different from the standard release, although I haven't listened to them back-to-back to compare. If anything it's a very nice version of the album to have if you're a big QOTSA fan, specifically for the artwork/lyrics
Glei
How's it sound after cleaning?
Waiso
Great album but weak booklet, if you even want to call it that, its basically just a slip of printed paper. Lame, considering the vinyl record version gets a deluxe set. But none the Less, this album has beautiful music.
Jusari
Honestly, TOP record, a bit different sounding, but their best in my opinion. The songs are better crafted, musically and sonically richer and more diverse than in any of their previous releases. I pick up some "Heathen" and "Reality" era Bowie influences, not sure if it's premeditated or not, but it works for me. Great piece of work! My hat off to the gents.
Kaim

Tygralbine
does anybody know a correct sized outer record sleeve for this 'big-size-lp'?
Prinna
I had the same problem. I use the plastic outer record sleeve that came with my White Stripes - Under Great White Northern Lights Album for it and put the White Stripes into another one. Just until I find another one that fits, of course.
Doomwarden
There is a (handmade, not stamped - actually all the matrix markings on both vinyls are handmade) matrix code "MPO" on every side so it just might say that the cut has been made at Moulages et Plastiques de l’Ouest, Averton, France. Any comments?
Phallozs Dwarfs
My standard 150-gram 2x12" black release sounds totally fine, pressing-wise. No surface noise, no pops what-so-ever. Maybe the mastering is a bit of an issue, as this seems to be another victim of the loudness war (but what else do you expect from hard rock these days?), but the pressing itself is fine. My one complaint with QOTSA vinyl releases is price.
Brightfury
This is about the DELUXE package:The packaging is really nice. For the price it should be required to use AUDIOPHILE SLEEVES, which it DOES NOT.The worst part, even more than the fact they used too much compression on the mix, is I went thru 3 copies to get one that wasn't totally warped and full of surface noise and pops and clicks. And the one I have now is still a bit warped and offcenter and has a few areas of surface noise.Matador did send me a new copy after I fronted the money to send my second back. The record store did my first exchange. So props to matador for at least acknowledging it.Great record with a terrible pressing. Buyer beware.
Carrot
Sorry to hear that experience being had. My copy is perfect. I can't really fault the vinyl mastering, it sounds pretty dynamic to my ears, and the graph below confirms it. 45rpm with plenty of dead wax helps make more pleasant, in fact, this record sounds pretty damn sweet as far as I'm concerned. The digital version IS brick walled though.Vinylhttp://mostly-retro.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Fullscreen-capture-672013-55316-PM.jpgFLAChttp://mostly-retro.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Fullscreen-capture-672013-55304-PM.jpg

update: the 180 gramm Pallas edition is very good, also the booklet w. lyrics - but there seems to be a bunch of poor 150g copies around!
Ance
Are the printed lyrics exclusive to the (limited deluxe) vinyl? The 20 page book does contain them, and my memory tells me the 150 gram lp didn't - if that is correct it can as well be mentioned in the notes on here (?!)
Survivors
Update, the people at matador are going to send me new copies of both releases. Pretty cool to do so, got the feeling I was not the only one with problems...
tref
Great album and the pressing is good as well. No distortion whatsoever (remember Era Vulgaris?! Damn!). Spreading the album over 2 records really helps I believe. Even though you have to turn it and change it like a million times to hear the whole thing. Worth it!
Jogrnd
my 150 gram "standard" edition has so much self noise it's ridiculous. drop the needle on the run in and its just this super loud hiss. i was hesitant to open any one of my copies (versions) of the release, but figured the standard version should sound fine, but not really.
Ausstan
same over here in germany: the 150 gramm edition is really poor, had to return my first order to my local online store - but the second try was even worse, especially the b-side.now trying the 180 gramm deluxe which I found too expensive at first; but I really want the album on proper vinyl :-/
Whitescar
I had to take a copy of mine back to my shop because it came out of the shrink-wrap so horribly warped. Next copy has been fine though. I think the Matador pressings are somewhat hit or miss.
Dagdardana
emailed them and haven't heard back. what contact did you use?
Tiv
dont know if this will get rid of the noise floor.. my copy was still noisey but also had added "crunches" on each rotation, same place. .side b.. really bad... run ins on c and d were cleaner but not quiet by any stretch.
Uthergo
thanks! i'll hit them up.
Nothing personal
VPI didnt clean up the noise.. 3 passes through it. one quick email to matador and they're sending a replacement, apparently there have been some defective copies. They're cool.

I have a bunch of noise on the b-side.. going to run it through the vpi and hopefully that clears it up.. will get back. b side is unlistenable at this point.. havent gotten to 'c' or 'd'..

Well it's way better than the 150 gram pressing, which for me anyway was a real disappointment. This Pressing was clean unlike the other which looked like it sat in a garbage bin before it was sealed. This pressing is pretty quiet and the sound is very good, but the disc is not dead flat. I'm transferring it at 24/192 as we speak so I've only handled disc one. I will give an update soon, I will say as much as adore the music on "Like Clockwork" I'm not at all convinced the vinyl offerings are worth the $$$ for anyone other than a real hardcore fan.Edit,Now I'm pissed put disc 2 on the platter straight out of the very heavy cardboard sleeve, that was not a compliment. played through C1 Fairweather Friends without a hitch then to my horror 48 second into C2 Smooth Sailing a small pop followed by visions of co... over and over again. Jumped up to get the tonearm off it, took it of and there it was...A very small piece of debris stuck to the disc. I say stuck because it was sticky NOT GOOD!!! Now I've got to put a brand new $50.00 record on the cleaning machine. Cleaned it twice and it now will play through but damn' you can still see were the goo was.Beyond all of that as I in the cleaning process I noticed a good bit of wiggle on the god damn' center hole... Edit,So the people at Matador have done their best to make thing's rite. Sent me new sealed copies of both Versions in fact I got a blue 150 gram. Also after some research on Pallas where they were pressed it turns out they had a big fire at the plant about the time these were due. This may also explain some of the delay's, for now I'm happy good customer service from Matador.

10,000 copies sounds more like the entire first run of vinyl pressings including deluxe. Matador ran out of the blue covers before the street date, claiming that the rest were shipped to records stores. There aren't any left in records stores in my area. I'm not convinced that this pressing number relates to the blue cover only.

I'd say... save the money and buy the regular red version or even the regular "limited" blue one.

Seems as if the lottery tickets come in different colors. Added a picture of my blue ticket. Anyone has any other colors (apart from yellow or blue)?
Rollers from Abdun
yah, that would basically mean that every smaller indie band's release is a "limited edition" :)
Direbringer
Price of this seems a little off to me - £30 for a booklet and a slightly heavier cut? Perhaps I'm missing something, but that's quite costly. I went for the normal version, which I'm very happy with. Excellent quality.
kewdiepie
It also comes in an oversized tip on gatefold sleeve rather than a glossy gatefold.

This vinyl cut is epic, absolutely stunning quality. And album itself just keeps growing on me, amazing stuff from Homme and his gang, yet again... Like Clockwork
Asyasya
Pre-ordered it through Matador, no problems at all...
Onoxyleili
Did anyone else pre order this deluxe limited edition through Matador? Both copies I received are missing the second disc. Better keep your eyes peeled! Amazing album start to finish!
JoldGold
My copy came with two copies of C/D. No A/B.
Amarin
Amazing album.Noticed something odd though, the lyrics books inside has smooth sailing and i appear missing in the incorrect order to the sleeve.
SoSok
Finally a good vinyl cut of a Qotsa album.
Kekinos
Smooth sailing is listed as 2nd to last and i appear missing is 3rd to last in the book
Mazuzahn
Booklet in different order then tracklist
