Side A tracks 2-3 Nangs and Moments have considerable static white noise on my copy. All other tracks are clean. Discs looked fantastic but I notice the grooves look darker and stand out more on the tracks I'm referring to. Anyone else have this problem? I'd like to exchange for another copy and hope its better because its hard to have a defect copy of one of my favorite albums. I picked this up from my favorite local shop. Does anyone have of a great pressing of this release or recommend a better reissue? Id like to believe that the next copy will sound better.
GEL
Originally I had bought the standard edition 2xLP, which sounded very muddy to my ears, and I can confirm that this release sounds miles better. The sound is clear and punchy, and the vinyl itself is noticeably heavier and sturdier. Love the deep marble color. Excellent packaging as well and tons of nice features, though the flexidisc sounds a bit scratchy. Might just need a cleaning.Definitely recommended if you can get your hands on a copy. Classic album that deserves a good pressing
Nikok
A US seller is currently (as of today) selling this for.... brace yourself..... $900!!!!!!!! Good luck to him/her finding a buyer.
tamada
A general rule of thumb I’ve learned is to avoid the US Interscope pressings and shoot for the 2015 European or Australian Fiction Pressings. This isn’t entirely firsthand knowledge but rather general information I’ve gathered from this site, steve hoffman forums, and reddit. Cheers!

So I bought this thinking hey, this album would sound great on vinyl, right? Boy was I wrong. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, but I should've checked what everyone else here said first. The pressing is abysmal. The Moment is especially bad, it's pretty much nonstop crackle throughout the entire song and it's painful to listen to. It's a shame such a good album got such a shitty vinyl.
Nanecele
Never mind the pressing, this album is shit. Hard to believe that this is by the same guys that made Innerspeaker and Lonerism. Can this even be qualified as psych rock? Sounds more like synth-pop and not the good kind. I guess Kevin's dream of people "dancing" to their music, pretty much killed their sound.
Fato
Whack on a decent set of headphones (and perhaps reconsider your attitude to artistic progression) and try again. This album is a modern classic, and arguably the defining moment for prog-rock in the 2010s.
Doukree
I buy a lot of records, especially new titles. This is not a good pressing. Both records had an abundance of sleeve scuffs out of the printed inner sleeves. Side C had a moderate edge warp and is pressing off-center. The second record also had a very small center hole, making it difficult to fit on the spindle. I purchased from Amazon, so I'm gonna try to see if the replacement is any better. Fingers crossed. My guess is this was pressed at United, seeing as they typically produce pure shit. Love the music, just not the vinyl.
Foginn
Did your replacement copy come in and was it better? I hope so!
Kecq
Buy in amazon the edition of July 17, 2015, new sealed, is the edition of black discs, it sounds incredible, a good album of the decade
Malarad
Great clear pressing with dynamic sound. Remixes are high quality as well as the single and flexi disc. All very impressively packaged in a study durable box. Worth the money for any audiophile or fan of the band.
Gogal
My copy sounds good and it's quiet too. I love it!
Yggfyn
Having been aware of the luck of the draw with this release I asked the previous owner to give it a test listen to check for poor sound, the copy was great so now I own it. An old housemate of mine owned a copy which was awful, but bear in mind he was playing it through a cheap Ion turntable where everything sounded worse anyway. The discs are nice n heavy. As mentioned, my copy sounds great. Absolutely silent throughout. The mix, mastering and overall sound is exactly how you want it to be.So great pressings of this DO EXIST. Best buying 2nd hand and asking sellers and hoping for honesty. As for the rest of this release. The cover is kinda iconic already and is sturdy. The inners are not poly-lined and will need Nagaoka's to slip inside. Also includes an MP3 code.
Brightfury
Kevin’s voice sounds a bit muffled throughout the whole album. Especially on Let It Happen. It’s unfortunate since this is on a 2xLP. Beautiful gatefold. The cover is sturdy.I hope I’ll be able to get a better pressing.2/10
Cargahibe
I know this may sound weird but have you checked your setup potentially having the issue? For both discs to suffer from the same issue. My copy was quite bright sounding with the vocals sitting forward in the mix
Cel
I'll get right to the point, this pressing is absolutely horrible. I checked it against every stylus I have, sounds like dogshit in all the exact same places. Nothing but crackle in the vocal parts, absolute trash. I couldn't even finish it.
Cerekelv
Looks like I'm one of the lucky ones. Sounds delicious.
Talrajas
My copy sounds great :) - start to finish sounds flawless no noise or pops - really loving it
Kieel
This really demonstrates what a crap shoot it can be to buy new records. Sometimes, this thing sounds better than the CD. Sometimes, it's much worse. There is a lot less compression and it seems like it was more well mastered, but I don't think a lot of attention went into QC at the Pressing Plant. Side A has grooves that are very closely spaced that bring out a lot of inner groove distortion, almost as if the record was already worn out! This was new record, and my cartridge is already aligned correctly! Side B is okay, but I can see actual dimples in the grooves that add some crackling noises, but it's tolerable. Side C and D sound great. Exactly like I'd hope it'd sound. What gives? Overall, a below average pressing. If we're lucky, maybe we'll get a remastered CD.
Cyregaehus
incredible pressing. pick this up if you are able to.
DEAD-SHOT
Having owned both this version and the standard black US release, I would definitely say this version sounds superior. Vinyl feels heavier and plays much better
Dibei
Excellent quality and extras in the box. Love the red marble color of the vinyl and the small notebook with the lyrics and sketches of the lyrics. The sound is also very good, can only recommend this version.

Anybody else getting a lot of scratching on the left channel for Let It Happen? Otherwise it sounds ok. Good bass response, the highs are almost there but could use a bit more oomph. Like I said though, still a great purchase with beautiful packaging and cool extras (I will warn the bonus discs for the remixes and b-sides attract dust like there's no tomorrow, but they sound great once's that's all off.) The flexi disc also has pretty acceptable levels of surface noise for a flexi disc.
hardy
my version's side a&b repeat side a. both sides play "let it happen, nangs, and the moment" is this a common bad press?
Helo
It's pressed by United Record Pressing, which is known for quality issues. Hands down the worst pressing plant in the United States.
Global Progression
I noticed on eBay a few copies of this album have been going for quite a bit of money. Some more than others. I remember getting it but I couldn’t remember ever spinning it. So I decide to dig it up. Sure enough it’s still sealed. Lenticular prints are cool as shit!!!I got #21
lubov
Mine sounds (and looks) fantastic. Nearly dead-quiet in the noise section. Pretty dynamic. Groovy, punchy bass as it should be.
Gavikelv
My copy sounds fantastic, one of the best in my collection. I guess I was lucky
black coffe
Something that truly, truly bugs me from a tracklist design point of view. "Gossip" was meant to seamlessly transition into "The Less I Know The Better", and on the digital version this works very well. (It's even implied by the titles of the songs and their proximity to one another). It belongs at the beginning of C and not the end of B, forcing the listener to complete the intro by changing records completely. Dumb, and unnecessary.
Mettiarrb
Or: have "the less i know the better" close out B. That way it feels balanced with the runtimes of the other sides.
PanshyR
No issues with my copy even when there are some hairlines on record two. Well I didn't realize it was an MPO pressing and I think I had luck with this one. That bass on The Less I Know The Better is terrific.
Coiriel
Anyone in the US received this yet? Got the shipping notice 14 days ago but it might have been slowed down by Thanksgiving
Hadadel
Yes I've received mine in the mail over two weeks ago. (11/14)
SoSok
Any feedback on the quality of this release? Better or worse than initial pressings?
Onaxan
Another reissue/CE owner here, they both sound the same, although there is some minor surface noise on the A side and some noticeable noise on the D side (I also had noise on the reissue D side). B-sides, flexi, and remixes don't sound bad at all though.
Bladebringer
Having owned both the reissue and the collector's box set, they're the same quality. There's surface noise on the main LP that is noticeable but none of the masters for any additional content sounds awful. Hell, even the flexi disk sounds pretty damn good.
Yozshubei
Read that this was limited to 5000 world wide. Delivered today from official site.
Whitecaster
https://www.roughtrade.com/gb/music/currents-extendedsold out in the official website, Rough Trade still has got some.Should be limited to 500 copies, can someone confirm this ?
Gholbimand
I read it was 3,000 for this set, still plenty in stock in various stores.
Risa
I haven't read any pressing numbers. I hope it's that limited.
Nea
Also unless I am crazy or something, there is no "ⓤ" symbol on any side of my copy. In fact it's only on side C where there is that symbol but instead of the letter "u" it has a #2 in the circle. Side C is the ONLY ONE with the circle number symbol. Mine is a gatefold. Anyone else have the same copy? This needs to be edited.

My best friend has a sealed copy of this. Unfortunately he passed away before he could sell it or whatever he wanted to do with it. He bought two copies, one aus and one us, so he could listen to one and sell the other(or keep, but if he saw how much its worth now, I bet he would love to trade for some other rare vinyls. His mom said she would let me have some of his vinyls and holy shit would it be awesome to get that one. I wouldn't sell it tho. Everything that is connected to him will stay with me forever. His number was in the middle I think. around 200. Central cali is where he lived

My version is excellent.I bought it for £15 in a local record shop and had the chance to listen to it before the purchase. I'm so happy as I was afraid of all the bad reviews mentioning distortion and noise. My EU copy if this is just much better than I expected!
Urtte
No issues with my copy either! Both discs play perfect.... and I echo others sentiments, this is a fantastic album. I prefer it over Lonerism, but don't listen to either enough to be honest.
Winenama
Why does it say that 0 people own it? Seems pretty odd
HelloBoB:D
As with the last 2 Impala albums, pretty crummy sound quality...plenty of extra noise pressed into the vinyl, and lacking dynamics (with the slight exception of the original Innerspeaker 45rpm). Listening to Pond's vinyl releases puts into perspective the sub par sound of Tame Impala on vinyl. I wish Pond's people had gotten ahold of Impala's "masters"...: (
Kiutondyl
That's because it was pressed at United. Very typical of the shit they press.I'm getting a Euro copy, pressed at MPO (France), where they actually have quality control and don't use sub-standard vinyl pellets.Go check allyour recent US pressings of albums you have. I bet they mostly all have a hand etched "U" in a circle. United, Rainbo and the two shittiest major plants on earth. Followed by GZ Media out of the Czech Republic.I try only to but (new) records if they are pressed at RTI, QRP, (in the states) and Optimal, Pallas, Record Industry, MPO (in Europe). If a US release is comes from United, then I check for a Euro press that is likely done at one of the four best in the world.Note that major artists (The Beatles, Pink Floyd/Waters/Gilmour, Zep, Collins, Gabriel etc have their latest remaster pressings done in the same places (often Optimal) for all releases, whether for Euro market or North American. Because they don't want their hard work, and that of the engineers, to be ruined by some amateur pressing plants trying to sell records to hipsters who don't even play records, or know what a good record actually sounds like. Another good example is the Blue Note 75th anniversary releases. All sources are cut by Bernie Grundman, but the US pressings are from United and have many flaws. The exact same albums for Euro market are done at Optimal in Germany and they are all silent and perfect.I have a crusade against United. So fucking incompetent.
Adoraris
Amazing clear sound. Great US Version. I am reallyc satisfied with this 12".
Hǻrley Quinn
Too bad, the sounds are horrible (compared to digital copies...) and that goes to Innerspeaker, and Lonerism too.
Jode
Right!? Come on Tame Impala, get it together! ...why does Pond sound so much better on vinyl !?
Binar
So confused. I have the translucent purple and yellow version of this record which is supposedly the limited edition version but the record number matches with the regular non- colored version.
Cordaron
Are you referring to the number in the dead wax? They probably used the same stamper as the black vinyl edition.
Vushura
My copy sounds flawless I have to say. Pity others have had issues.
Sermak Light
The album is fantastic, but it sounds really distorted compared to digital copies. Too bad they don't care about releasing a decent sounding record.

I'm looking every morning and night for the price to go down. It will happen, right?

The Color release is really cool. My copy (The US Version) sounds pretty alight. I think side C & D sound better, but side A & B are also good. I don't own the European version. I think it's weird that the US got gold/Orange & lavender/Violet as the colored release. The gold looks amazing tho & im not complaining at all, I just find it so weird. Personally I think the European version (Yellow & Purple) go better with the album's theme. I don't own that copy yet, but I've been told it sounds a lot better then the US pressings, but I hear that about almost every album pressed on vinyl now. I think the yellow & purple are very unique on the European version. The purple & yellow look so shiny & idk, I just love the look. The US lavender reminds me of Lana Del Rey's ultraviolence urban outfitters pressing, but the lavander is a really pretty color.

Bought this album the day it came out brand new for $25. Had no idea it was limited. There was no hype sticker saying 'limited edition coloured vinyl's ir anything so I assumed all copies were like it. I was personally disappointed with the quality of the coloured vinyl so I went to my record store to buy a new one (after I found out the coloured was limited) for $27 Canadian and I broke the seal and it was the coloured version again. Complete gamble which one you're going to get. Great album but I personally don't think there was anything limit to this limited release
Wild Python
#420 here in Perth, laughed out loud when I received it last year.
Silverbrew
There is literally no way of knowing if you get this version of not. I bought this like 2 weeks ago & it was this version. I actually was so happy it was this version, because I like to own colored versions of any album gets a release that's colored. There was no sticker on mine or anything I opened it & started freaking out when I saw the gold disc. The album is so amazing I was just buying it to own a copy. Also the other limited edition version looks nothing like this pressing. It is yellow & purple vinyl & you can tell a difference if you look at both copies. I personally think the gold & lavander go better with the album cover & themes, but hey that's just me. Anyway both this album regradledd of it colored or not!!! It's a really good album!
Whiteflame
what store did you get this from? just wondering.. .
Huston
I bought the Interscope color version from Amazon when it first came out and it sounds awesome. I can't believe someone would return a record multiple times.Vinyl is a love/hate relationship. You love it when you get a good one and hate it if ithas surface noise. Vinyl is imperfect..it's ridiculous to demand a perfect record everytime.I own hundreds of LPs and most are from Europe. As a whole, they tend to sound a little betterthan the US but there's no reason to pile up on the record companies here in the states.
Vetalol
Same problem to me. A lot of background noise on side A and B. However, perfect sound on side C and D. I'm going to change this vinyl to another new one.
Dianazius
does anyone know how many of these were pressed? how "limited" is limited?
Dozilkree
I thought I read 5000 when it came out at the record store, I no longer work there so I have no way to look it up unfortunately
Eyalanev
Can someone tell me why this colored version is so expensive? I don't understand why it is more than $70 everywhere.
Sagda
Not true, I just bought this album 2 weeks ago in a books a million. I was actually surprised because it said nowhere on the album that it was limited edition. In fact there were no stickers saying anything & I thought I was just getting a normal US copy. Was so happy when I saw the good & lavender vinyl!

From what I understand, I think it was pretty much only for those who preordered the album. It was either that or only the very first run.
Innadril
I see... Yes, it's beautiful! Any idea of how many were pressed?
It's so easy
As far as I can tell, they only did one initial run of the colored version. The rest were all on black vinyl. The colored version is a pretty cool set. Purple and clear yellow.
Ximathewi
Noise on Let it Happen and Nangs for me, which is real sad :( everything else sounds fine though
Lemana
Same here. A side is noise noise noise yet B,C and D are fine. Most prominent on Let it Happen and Nangs, and noise for about half of The Moment and then starts to disappear by the end of the side.
HyderCraft
Can anyone comment to the quality of this pressing? I'm seeing some discrepancies of the quality and would love to know. Thanks
Lilegha
I actually was looking up the same issue, as I found this album's pressing to be subpar comparing to the fidelity of the first two album's pressings. Mine shows limitations even when compared to the CD issue. Was dissatisfied.
Reighbyra
At first listen, I was not very impressed with this album. Out of the gate I liked "let it Happen", but the rest was a little syrupy and mellow dramtic. Now, after a few months and revisiting it, I can appreciate it for what it is. The music seems to be coming from a man that has found success, left a relationship and kicked off a new one. Its kind of hard to hate on someones uber happiness, potentially falling in love and having the clear head space to drip drop his clean liquid vile all day long without a care in the world... Its cool... its free... its his current.
Kakashkaliandiia
Mine sounds great, i guess it was bad luck for some, full bass response no warp, just perfect! Anybody know the amount of these made?
Unh
I second this. I just pulled this out again to listen for the first time since I bought it and it sounds fantastic.
DABY
Sounds horrible like all of Tame Impala's presses. Very unfortunate.
Hallolan
Mine sounds super too! No noise. Check your turntable or get another one
Gavirim
With pressings nowadays, I do give some leeway if the warp is slight and does not interfere with play. Mine sounds fine but I would say only barely acceptable in terms of the severity of the warp on record one (record two is flat). I can't hear any distortion. The music itself is great. I do listen to this album often. I got the print, but it was handed to me from behind the counter of the shop. Would have been nice to have a download card considering the quality of the pressing. It's nice to have the semi-valuable colored vinyl and I don't have any complaints about sound quality w my copy.
Hellmaster
What a Load of Glitter Balls! To my great chagrin this time around Tame Impala moved from neo-psychedelia to unimaginative synthpop. “All this running around, trying to cover my shadow, a notion growing inside, now all the others seem shallow. All this running around, bearing down on my shoulders, I can hear an alarm, it must be morning.” “Let It Happen” is a huge disco turd and farther on their stuff becomes even worse. So those Currents are just currents in the sea of hogwash.
Reggy
Stay away from Tame Impala on Vinyl ??!?! - fucking jokers - invest in your set up. Telstar turntables with tesco carts and usb ports for your nan to rip her Val Doonican plates aint gonna cut the mustard - so much fucking hipster bulllshit.....flame at will. Peace
Benn
Not the best pressing, both records a bit warped but I find the sound to be acceptable. I do not notice any distortion or interference.
Kazigrel
I got a copy of this edition, and it got bumps. Muy turntable is in good conditions and those bumps are on 4 or 5 tracks... What can I do? Would they give me a refund or another new one?
Quinthy
My copy of this version has the tracks of side c on side d and the tracks of side d on side c. Does anybody else have this issue?
Anen
I have a corrected version of disc 2 indicated by different matrix:Matrix / Runout (Runout Side C): MODVL 191 - C - RE I RJ STERLING MPOMatrix / Runout (Runout Side C): MODVL 191 - D - RE I RJ STERLING MPOSides A/B have not changed.Sound is great on all sides.
Ielonere
I have this issue on my copy of Currents, too.
MisTereO
I have this issue on another Tame album. Lonerism I think. They put the label on upside down somehow...
godlike
My copy sounds great, very little, if any distortion...
Fordrekelv
Did anyone else's come with a glossy print of the album artwork? Can't see it listed anywhere that it comes with it, was surprised to see it included.
Delari
yes, i also have a copy of the glossy print.
Flash_back
So anyone know anything about this version. http://www.recordstoreday.com/Item/9007454060 Same UPC But I can't find if there's any more details.
lucky kitten
Best album of 2015 for sure!
Spilberg
I agree with all... This pressing is of extremely bad quality. It's really a shame that such an amazing release be treated like this.
lolike
Super bummer that it's eye candy and nothing else :/ Guess I'll just stick to my FLAC release of the album that I bought separately.

Q:Are you a vinyl guy? How do you like listening to music?30. By: wxyn Thread | PermalinkA:Funny enough, I'm not a vinyl guy, and never really have been. I love the romance of it, like everyone else, but I would never argue that it's superior to any other way of experiencing music. I've never listened to a vinyl record and though "ok THIS SOUNDS BETTER than a CD, or itunes etc etc etc"KEVIN PARKER WORDS, there is not too much effort on this pressing I guess... I heard lonerism and it sucks too, just stay away from tame impala on vinyl.
Isha
Distortion after first track of every side.
Aloo
Thanks Lowflyingowls for the comparison between Fiction and Interscope pressings. Ordered mine direct from Fiction Records. Side note I doubt the Interscope version is as bad as the 09' XL Pressings version of Devendra Banhart -Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon
Sironynyr
this is one of the worst pressings i have ever received
Whatever
Can someone confirm if this version sounds better than the US standard black vinyl? I'd like to buy based on quality and not color for this LP.
Auau
Shoutout the person who just sold me #105 for 100 euros :)
Jairani
Is this is the lenticular print or just a little postcards????
Jaiarton
Where's the download code Interscope? You greedy mother freakers! And it's $35!! Fiction, Tame Impala's label in Europe, included it in their pressings.
Debeme
YES! #442!!
Kata
Number 499!
Quamar
My yellow LP's sticker is wildly off centre on both sides, almost in play region on side A. Anyone else have this or know if I can get a replacement from the record label?(Great album.)
Blackredeemer
Sounds amazing!! REALLY happy i randomly picked this one up!

The hippest psychedelic rock is so around 2010 in Oceania. The New Zealand company Unknown Mortal Orchestra and the Australian Tame Impala conquer right after each other Europe and the United States. Both are the geesteskindje of a multi-instrumentalist who single-handedly makes albums at home with a big nod to the 1960s and 1970s. Ruben Nielson (UMO) and Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) fall especially on by their spiky guitar playing. Their first albums seem to be an ode to the stringed instrument. Happen to break them in 2015 with their third record both with this tradition. On Currents of Tame Impala is almost no guitar. Parker dives into the new wave of the early 1980s. The smooth synthesizers fill his high voice – always with a dreamy echo – beautifully. The drums played, but Parker has not been programmed. This keeps Tame Impala anyway as a band sound. Currents shows that Parker can also in a different setting. For rock fans might even swallow, but an artist who continues to develop, deserves all the respect.
Cala
Come on "Tames" what about us in Australia?

#286 here in new york. Finally showed up today!
Kupidon
The free MP3 version is available via Amazon...just sign in to Amazon, find your order for the LP, then click on "Currents (Limited Edition Colored Vinyl)" and on the right hand side, click on "Play In Your Library", download and install the Amazon Music app on your computer, find the Currents album cover, drag that over to the right where it says "Download to Your Computer" and voila! It's as easy as 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8!

#363 here
Alsanadar
Not a bad press on my end. Music sounded descent although the vocals were a little on the low end but the sound was pretty descent (this might be becasue of my low-end turntable/sound setup) - even heard some stuff i didnt know was there compared to the digital release. Although i dont mind the download code not being included in this release i do find it pretty odd for a +$30 album. Altogether not a bad album to have on vinyl. I do plan on buying the Euro version later down the line though! :D
Steel balls
Got #341 here, in Melbourne. The prints are cool! I didn't expect them to be as big
Silly Dog
My number is #23

After listening to the EU version album twice once aloud and the second time with headphones, i had a shoot out with the U.S. Colored Pressing album and the U.S. Regular black vinyl. I found that European version is superior than the U.S. Versions The European version is louder, clearer and somewhat faster than the U.S. Version. (You can notice a difference on "Let It Happen") I had no warp or noise pop issues with the album, it played beautifully. It was expensive to import this version but it was worth it. In addition to the shoot out, I found that the regular black vinyl is slightly better than the U.S. Colored vinyl album, it is much warmer and brighter sounding than the colored version.I found no warp or noise issues with that one. In terms of weight, the EU version is most heavy, and in second was the regular black vinyl and 3rd was the colored vinyl. If you can afford it, buy the EU pressing and if your on a budget I'd recommend the regular black vinyl. Both are great, I would definitely avoid the U.S. Colored pressing, I found slight warp issues and some cracking issues on side b, and side c. I had returned the album twice and the third was decent than the rest, very disappointed for that pressing.
Anicasalar
Cheers I bet she's a beauty, I was to late for the exclusive prints version, lucky I preordered just the vinyl. My next purchase will be the Japanese version of Currents, it's bonus cd is "live versions"
you secret
Mmm, that's a tough one mate. I'm not a big fan of colored vinyl but really id settle for it before it becomes really rare. i would definitely get the EU version either way.
Sardleem
have the us colored version - not a bad press on my end but i am going to buy a Euro version later this year. Would you recommend the Colored Euro or the regular Black in terms of sound quality? is there much difference or should i just save a few extra bucks and buy the regular black(Euro)?
Memuro
Side C and Side D have some surface noise here and there. Sounds great though.
Amis
Yeah, not the greatest pressing for the US album....no digital download code, easily fixed by pushing record in my digital recording software...but the lack of a DL code was an interesting move. Again, not the greatest pressing, but the colored vinyl is nice. What it comes down to is the album content, which is very well put together and recorded. Fast becoming one of my favorites for 2015!
Ytli
Can't delete comment. Here are 10 words to replace it.
Mot
Does anyone know how many this is limited to?
Vudogal
Probably not that 'limited' must be in the 5000 region at least. The EU/Australian press may be the more limited of the different versions.
Samowar
I wanted to know too.
Justie
Was anyone else's US Interscope pressing warped? I had to return mine to Amazon. Hoping this isn't a common defect! :/
Zulurr
i have a slight warp on disc one, i bought it locally. it plays fine, but its a slight warp
Aria
I received two badly warped copies of the limited Interscope pressing. Both are being returned in hopes that the black vinyl version that's on its way doesn't suffer from the same issues.
Samut
My discs are warp free and sound clean. No hiss or pop. You might just have had some bad luck and received a poor copy.
Mikarr
Received #420 B)
Dandr
Anyone know if this pressing sounds nicer than the US one? I have the US press, and have very obvious noise on sides c and d.
Alsantrius
Yep,i've read than the European limited edition press is really better than the US limited edition version..I have the European and he sounds really really great...
The Sphinx of Driz
It looks alright, but I think the solid yellow and purple looks better also!
Saithinin
Actually if you hold the EU version against the light you can see it's splattered, which is also quite cool ;-) (especially the yellow disc)
Kamick
Same here, the Euro/Aussie pressing is by MPO France I think and is really good, no noise, 180gm heavy colored vinyl and great sound. The USA pressing is by Universal and they are shit allegedly. And the pressing is 160gm. Don't have the US version but the Euro version is great!A shame as I would have liked the more translucent USA pressing to be the 180gm Euro version and not the solid colour one, but that's just a personal taste.I love the 'look' of the US version but wouldn't buy one for love nor money because of the crap pressing quality. Too bad.
Forey
I do not own the US press, but the EU press sounds pretty nice in my opinion. Played it quite loudly and the surface noise was minimal. Of course this may vary amongst copies of the same press.
Faebei
crappy press, but dang this record really grew on me alot!!!
Ndyardin
Agreed, I was very disappointed with the quality of the press.
anneli
Truly one of the best albums released this year. They might have changed up a bit, but theres alot of their old sound still in there. It really is an inspired piece. Anyone who gets mad because they don't sound the same wasnt looking at tame impala in the right light in the first place.
Morad
The American press is shit 160gm, whereas the Euro vinyl is 180gm. Plus the EU one has a download voucher, result!!
net rider
$190.00 for Lenticular Prints
Tuliancel
really too bad could not include a free download for a $30.00 album..... :(
Coiron
I don't believe any of their vinyl releases come with digital download, probably a choice by Modular and not the band.
Alsalar
The rave edition did not have a code for downloadings?
Purebinder
Music sounded great, but for $30, the pressing itself is subpar. Feels around 150g, and my disc 1 had a small defect and Amoeba confirmed I was not alone and that it was likely a pressing defect. Additionally, the discs were packed inside of the inner glossy sleeves, almost guaranteeing rips/tears during the shipping process.
Beahelm
It had to do more with physical warping. The first track on either side of disc 1 had a subtle enough inconsistency that the needle could not find the groove until I pushed the headshell into place. I ended up sending it back to Amoeba for a refund.
Cha
Where was your defect? I've only listened to it once and that was the day it was released. I seem to remember it being right before the runout. Both of my records had torn through their sleeves too. So that's cool.
Flas
Yeah, $30 is too high for a double lp pressed at United. The majority of all records pressed there are defective, unfortunately. At least it was mastered at Sterling.
Coron
This should say orange transparent. The US version isn't yellow. Album 9/10!
Brick my own
Can anyone tell me as to why there is no download card in the new Deluxe Tame impala Currents vinyl? The European version has one, why doesn't the american version have one? i DON'T GET IT, HEY INTERSCOPE SEND ME a download code I'M @ [email protected] ---dont be cheap :-)
Paster
No mention of the (Australian Modular) colored vinyl pressing ('solid' color, not the opaque Universal pressing) from JB Hi Fi in Australia with the LTD postcard set and download voucher?Similar to the lenticular print set from the band website in Aus.Who was that one pressed by?
Prorahun
Yea I'm confused on this because it was $30 more to get the lenticular prints. That really doesnt make sense. I kind of feel the vinyl coming with the prints will be a special version limited to 500. I bought a colored version anyways so I have both, so will check the upc number to see if they are the same. I feel the 500 should be unique because it was $70 and you had to be lucky to be around a computer when it was announced.
Leceri
Yeah, no download card...bummer town. Love the new sound though, synths are killer! Album is amazing from start to finish and the gatefold artwork is beautiful!
Simple fellow
Where's the download code Interscope? You greedy mother fuckers! And it's $35!! Fiction, Tame Impala's label in Europe, included it in their pressings.
VariesWent
I smell Grammy.
playboy
Big disappointment. Once again one favorite band changes style completely for the bad. Bye bye, thanks for the previous albums.
Rare
Most reviews I've read say this is their best album. But I guess artists like to grow and move forwards rather than rehash the same sound over & over.
terostr
ive seen people post pictures of their colored vinyl online and Ive noticed that the european versions of the colored vinyl are solid and a bit darker and the US presses are clear. anyone notice that?
Dreladred
Also the European version has the first disc as Yellow & second as Purple. Seems to be round the other way on themail US version.
Niwield
Yep my UK version is sold on both discs
Flocton
Yes, I have the US version and they are transparent. I can only assume the Fiction Records version is more solid.
რฉςh
So far one of my favorite releases of the year. This album is more synth-based, relaxed/chill, & really cleverly written. Check it out!
Munimand
does this include a download???
Nkeiy
mine didnt come with a code either
just one girl
Mine did not come with a download card. Pretty bummed.
Nicanagy
Doesn't specify if there is a download but most releases do include one
Water
Any idea on the # of copies they pressed?
Peras
The store I picked it up at said that this version is already our of print from the manufacturer so 500 sounds about correct, would love to get confirmation on that number though, anyone know for sure?
Agantrius
500 hand numbered with the extra prints from the band's website for initial announced preorder. Not sure how many printed for colored domestic limited run.
Jek
jerr-mightaswell I believe the lenticular prints themselves were limited to 500. The coloured vinyl were pressed at a larger number, easily in the thousands. However I can't be 100% sure. But I don't think they would've had a second pressing of the coloured vinyl, the lenticular prints were merely added to the first 500 of this pressing. This is correct. The colored vinyl version including the prints was limited to 500. A lot more colored vinyl versions were pressed without the prints - I've seen someone suggesting 3500, but I wouldn't be surprised if the actual number is higher. There's no official numbers, though. The prints were only for Australian pre-orders through the official band store (although they shipped them worldwide).
Moralsa

500 I believe.

500 copies I've been told
